Tournament Basics:

Game Parameters: 5 , PPSC, 25 hour phases, Anon, Classic Map, Full Press (The Final will have 36 hour phases)

Registration ends Friday Sept 17th.

Round 1 begins Monday Sept 20th.

The Tournament consists of 2 Rounds and a Final. In each Round, participants will play 2 games simultaneously. Everyone who signs up
(assuming there is a multiple of 7, if not, places will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis) will play in Round 1. The 21 highest-ranked participants (explained below) will move on to Round 2. The 7 highest-ranked participants in Round 2 will move on to the Final (consisting of 1 game).

Seeding for Round 1 will be based off of GR. A player not currently listed on GR will be considered to have a Rating of 0. Games will be arranged to balance the average skill of players and so that, if possible, no two players will play more than one game together per Round. Additionally, no player will play the same country in the same Round (this will be resolved by a mod. Players should email [email protected] if it happens).


Seeding for Round 2 will be based off of the points won in Round 1.The top 21 players will advance to Round 2. Everything else about Round 2 is the same as Round1. The Point system is as follows:

Solo victory in a game = 36
Participation in a draw = 34/# of players involved in the draw
Surviving a game = # of SCs you control at the end of the game

Ties will be broken by the players' seeds for that round--the higher seeded player going ahead.


The top 7 players from Round 2 will play in the Final.

Each player will be allowed 1 pause per Game of up to one week in length. It will be expected that all players within the game will honor this rule when requested by a player. If additional time is required, it may be requested (but may not be granted) by emailing the Tournament Director. If a pause lasts for longer than the allowed time, players should email the Tournament Director.

With the amount of people playing 2 simultaneous games, I believed it would become a nightmare to arrange for subs. I will be keeping a close eye on paused games to make sure they don't hold everything up.

Thank you for changing the rules, abgemacht. I will be playing with great pomp and without needing regular pauses...but would need the pause in the one instance when I will be undertaking a 36 hour journey on the 23rd/24th of September.

Is there anyway i can be put on a "hold" list for the tournament? Or maybe to have a sub ready for me if I'm in? I just found out from work today that I might be switching locations next week and I might actually have to work (I'm a field engineer and we're without a project currently). If that happens, I feel like my diplomacy might not be up to par with some of the names in this tournament and I don't want to drag anything down unnecessarily. It might not come to that, but then again, it might.

If you end up needing a sub, how long do you think it would be for?

It would likely be more of a replacement than a sub if it's necessary. I would be moving into our downtown office where I'd be doing design work, something I've never had a part in yet. That means there would be at least a couple of weeks of intro work and beginner work with heavy guidance. And since most of my time online lately has been at work, I feel that I'd be hard pressed to put up a good game without that time.

I'll keep you updated as this progresses if you'd like, I'm supposed to hear more on Monday or Tuesday.

If you think there is a reasonable chance of this happening, it may be better to move you down to the waitlist, so that we don't have to replace you 1 week into the tournament. Let me know.
