Seriously, there are a few people my age that I know that wear a Rolex or something and I just wonder how a Rolex is more rewarding than, say, a practical thing that actually makes an impact on your life. Buy a knock-off Rolex and it looks the same to 99.9% of people.

I like watches. Sometimes my phone dies. It's easier to look at your wrist than take something out of your pocket.

Sorry internet board, but fashion is probably the highest reason for owning a watch. They are a fashion accessory and always have been - with the mainstream use of the smart phone, this shift is even more defined. Not only can you state that you're a snobby rich guy, but there are many other statements you can make. Minimalist? They have these watches. Hemp bands, fitbits, built into bracelets, calculators. Never forget the Casio watch!

If you have no watch then it says to me that either you have no style, are not confident enough to state it, or probably what is probably most popular is that you are still seeking to find yourself.
