Freshman of the Year, yeah, probably. Between him and Yogi. Ironic.
I'm much more impressed with Ohio State and Wisconsin than Minnesota. They did what all Big Ten teams should be able to do which is beat each other on occasion. Wisconsin was much more forceful and deserved much more praise than Minnesota.
I am a Butler fan (I live minutes from campus and they are recruiting me for baseball, though it's not nearly the best school on my list), and I'd say I know just about everything about Butler from A.J. Graves to Rotnei Clarke. Still, when it comes to sports, I try my best to stay relatively neutral, specifically with awards and predictions. I do mock drafts all the time in the NFL and NBA plus prospect write ups in the MLB. When it comes to the NCAA, I got my 2009 winners bracket within two games of perfect (predicted Illinois would beat WKU and Wake Forest over Cleveland State if I remember correctly.. both were obviously wrong). In short, I do my analysis and my research and a lot of people - myself included - think I'm much smarter than Todd McShay anyway when it comes to March and April.
I used to play with Harris and Yogi but those two aren't the best I've played around. You'll hear Trevon Bluiett (4-star junior) and Trey Lyles (5-star junior; #4 in class according to ESPN) more than either Harris or Yogi in the long run. I'd even take a chance and put Jordan Pickett (Rivals called him 2-star but he went to a small prep school - my school - for two years and nobody really recruited him much; he's much much better than that) above Gary Harris in terms of overall skill. Harris is definitely the better shooter, but out of these five, the best I've played around, Harris is probably the worst overall.
Of course that doesn't mean I'm bashing him; he's a hell of a player and a thousand times better than I am... all five of those players can make the NBA if they put in the work and make the right improvements.
