Clearly this is NOT meta-gaming, since it is standard practice to find substitutes when someone can not complete a game, or must miss a few turns.

It's not metagaming in the form that we usually discuss… more like people who are getting extra help in a game from other players on their account. It's like me asking krellin to come onto my account and see what kind of Diplomacy wisdom he can impart into my games. That's not allowed...

From a practical standpoint, it is impossible to detect, so the discussion is pointless.

Second, there is no rule that implicitly states you can't do it.

If you can't get help and wisdom from other people, then you would not be able to talk with other players in the game, whom often offer advise and wisdom.

Your argument, naturally, falls apart before it even gains any traction.

It's not like that at all. Krellin has an account of his own. In my example none of the people involved would have another account.

Per Jmo, as Draug pointed out, it is against the rules. Frankly, I don't understand this ruling at all. Why shouldn't I share an account with my wife? According to some, if we sat at computers side-by-side and each had our own account, we could not join games together - which I understand. But to say we can't play together on one account is...well, it's stretching it, and frankly would be *impossible* to police this ruling.

I'd honestly like the input of someone other than jmo - no offense jmo.
