Documentary recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a really good documentary? At the moment I am interested in the history of the European settlement of America. Maybe the Jamestown settlement or the Mayflower... that sort of thing. Anyone know of some decent docs which fit the bill (or any other great docs you think are worthwhile on any subject).

Is the Benelux geography the key feature in gunboat games?

I was writing a post on playdiplomacy's forum in a thread asking for country rankings in gunboat, and it struck me that the bottleneck between Switzerland and the English Channel totally changes the dynamic of the game when communication is gone. C/P from the post - read on.

Is it a legal diplomacy strategy? (hehe I am asking for a certiorari again)

The question is can you use 'cancel' as a legit diplomatic tool? Is it 'illegal' to force others to cancel instead of a 'draw' (as the game is realpolitik I am not much concerned with ethical sides but that is also open to discussion :P)

I want to talk about narcolepsy and lucid dreaming to an audience that knows nothing about both. Narcolepsy is seriously misunderstood and misdiagnosed because of it and no one understands how easy and beneficial lucid dreaming can be. Combine the two, and you have me, a narcoleptic that uses lucid dreaming to treat some of the worst parts about the disorder.

I've only just found out about the nominations (these past 3 months have been retarded and ugly and crazy, I'm really sorry about being MIA but have every intention of getting back to my roots very soon.)

Also, I have a day off tomorrow, girlfriend is out of town, there's no work to be done around the house, and I'm not into Diablo. So I'm going to catch up on the tournament moderation to a point where it isn't overwhelming. Obviously there's some fixing to do and the Spring GT will have to become the Summer GT, but I'll make it happen.

You were late anyway but I think you're wrong about TED. The ideas don't have to be world changing, watch more talks and you'll see that.

That's my topic. It won't solve world hunger, but it's definitely an idea worth sharing. Lucid dreaming isn't voodoo. It's actual science backed by a lot of research and a huge community that understands its benefits.

I think dreams are fascinating. Look at movies like Inception and Until the End of the World (or My Own Private Idaho, re narcolepsy). I would be much more likely to watch a TedTalk on Geofram's subject than one on ending world hunger.

Even if you don't get the nomination, I would very much like to hear a talk on this subject. How about you record a practice talk and put it here for feedback? Or do the TED guidelines prohibit you from sharing details of a talk beforehand?

Winter Gunboat Tournament CD

Hello everybody involved,

I will not talk about the games still going on, but i do have to adress the fact one player is CD'ing. In my opinion it is clearly influencing the outcome of the Tournament, so dont we have to do something about it?
Because the organiser of the Tournament is also playing, i dont know how else to adres this....

Why do people use character assassination

I don't know much about psychiatry, but why do people resort to character assassination? Is it because they are so narcissistic they can't except being wrong or have anyone disagree with them. It is just the last resort of an immature intellect?

1.China claims scarborough shoal according to china's historical records
