Writing a book
Has anyone here written a book? Once I finish another project I am working on, I am mulling over writing a biography of a secondary figure from the early American Republic. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with publishing a manuscript before.

The death of one of the greatest boxers who ever lived, and a huge part of the sports and cultural scene of the 1970s...may the epic Ali/Fraizer fights live on forever, and Joe be forever Smokin' Hot. RIP

Rule question! Retreat edition!
Just looking for a quick reminder (I'm still working the rust out of my long absence). If Austria's Vienna Army supports its Army in Bohemia to Tyrolia and Italy moves its Tyrolia army to Bohemia, can an Austrian Army dislodged from Silesia retreat to Bohemia?

I don't feel abused, I just enjoy pointing out your trivial hypocrisies. "RULEBREAKER," he screams, white-knuckled on the keyboard, while breaking rules himself, "ASSHOLE, MORON, IGNORANT" he declares, veins popping out when he is the only one calling names. "For I am SARGMACHER, the one true and upright defender of all that is good and righteous on the internets!" while blissfully unaware that that is a very short list, indeed, and ironically, (though unsurprisingly) he is not on it.

Hahaha. I didn't type anything in capital letters or even say the sentences you quote. I was picking you up on your particular behaviour yesterday - you're just making general attacks on me. At the same time, you send my private messages saying you hope we can play games in the future. Just let whatever this is to you go. I'm not even bothered, I just don't understand why you want to keep arguing down a line that isn't based in fact and is morally corrupt.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
08 Nov 11 UTC
Morally corrupt now, is it? Please, do go on, you don't sound quite silly enough yet...

Oh, and it's called hyperbole, toolbox. I know we struggle with those 3+ syllable words, but do try to keep up.

Hey yellowjacket, no need to insult other people's intelligence when your last post had this hot mess of the English language.
""For I am SARGMACHER, the one true and upright defender of all that is good and righteous on the internets!" while blissfully unaware that that is a very short list, indeed, and ironically, (though unsurprisingly) he is not on it."
I'm also pretty sure toolbox does not actually mean what you think it does. It's actually something that people use to keep things like hammers, screws, drill bits, and so on. Just because you use a word in an incorrect context doesn't mean it's proper English.

Thanks jmo. I'm not going to respond here anymore now - Yellowjacket has shown his true worth. I haven't insulted him personally but he insists on doing so to me. I don't need to respond here anymore. That last message of his says enough.

We just need a forum dedicated to insulting other players, so that his is all in one place and not all over and in forums where its not wanted.

@Sarg - I jusr reviewed all my posts on this thread. I said *one* time that YJ was being an ass which he confirmed and then said the fuck word in I think four exclamations including, "fucking around", "Cockney fucked up", "it's fucking up the game", and "No fucking way!" when I discovered it was you as Russia.

How is any of that personal insults beynd saying YJ was being an ass?

Sarg just generally frowns on rudeness, Draug. Unless, of course, it's him who's doing it. Then it's cool amirite?
Sargmacher (0 DX)
08 Nov 11 UTC
@Draugnar: I meant generally. You openly admit to using and are quite passionate about calling anyone you like, even those who you seemingly get on with, all kinds of offensive language and baseless judgemental accusations. If that were untrue, I would wholeheartedly apologise for tarnishing your character.
Draugnar (0 DX)
08 Nov 11 UTC
No problem. I just wanted to point out I generally stayed rational in *this* thread and am striving to amend my ways by leaving it all in the Chainsaw Challenge game. :-)

I love your attitude Draug, don't let the Sarge get you down.

Had fun wasting the 10 minutes or so needed to read this thread...

Just an opinion from a bystander: without even being well versed in the rules, common sense should prevail here. Cockney and Caesar should be punished (point docked?) for giving away their identities (it was anon) and colluding outside of the game (no in-game chat). There is no denying that this altered the outcome of the game, even if it was minor or provided a negative outcome for the two of them.

Yellowjacket should be shunned by any decent or reasonable people until he issues an apology to the community for his antagonistic, jack-ass behavior. His first post was sort of humorous; every post past that demonstrated a lack of respect for himself and for others.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
08 Nov 11 UTC
Lol Nelhybel... actually, I agree with you :) Shunning is a great way to punish jack-assery, and one doesn't even need to baaaaaa to a mod to do it!
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))

But Draug please don't shun me, I love our banter! Still holding out that Sarg will come to love me again too ;P

A couple of questions about American courts.
In the UK, when a jury has a verdict the judge asks them what the verdict is and they say it out loud. In the 'States, once a jury reaches a verdict, they write it down on a piece of paper and hand it to the judge, He or she reads it and then hands it back and someone in the jury reads it out.

Why do they hand it to the judge first? What does this achieve?

It was with more education we got out of the Stone Ages and into the Greco-Roman era...and then when education made a comeback, we had the Renaissance...and then the Englightenment...and then Civil Rights/Suffrage movements...cured diseases, more production...but currently my home state is 48th in education and the West is most of my doctors ARE from India...what's your take? Biggest threat is...what?

Probably not new game play idea, maybe for tourneys
Is there a tourney here that we could do a Triple vs Triple deal with a rogue Italy? I think if we have enough players that would be a fun thing to do. I think best would be 7 players or 49. Could be fun. Let me know if anyone is interested or has a way to make it a better idea.
