The Free Market Working Perfectly
The government doesn't seem to have a desire to interfere in the book selling industry, yet.
So in the small portion of the massive American economy the free market is working by destroying an inefficient business model, Borders Books.

Am I dreaming?
The Redskins, Lions, and Bills are 2-0. The Bengals could potentially lead the AFC North after this week, and both the Chiefs and Colts are 0-2. Is this the same league as last year?

Ethics question
So I was sucking some dude's dick in the rectory basement the other day, and I'm conflicted. The bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin, but I can only find true happiness with a hot rod plunged balls deep into my willing man-hole. How can something that feels so good be wrong?

I want to change, but I can no longer resist my urges for wanton buttsecks with random men. Can somebody please help me?

Would This Be Allowed?
If a game was created where a basic algorithm selected a number and which ever country guessed the farthest off, became someone that absolutely everyone would have to ally against? It would be quite interesting...

The trolling trolls initiative
Some people in this forum have now decided that the best way to combat trolls it to troll them.

As someone who hasn't trolled in 3 days and has tried to participate in political debates, this initiative has gotten very annoying. So I request that we stop it.

First game on webdiplomacy - do you remember it?
I remember mine. It was a live non-anonymous game, I was Turkey and smetha was Russia. I asked him if he has a MSN messenger or Google talk, so we can discuss our alliance, and he just stabbed me - with Italy and Austria. I was the first out. What was your first game experience on webdip?

I was Austria and I NMR'd my first turn. Everyone felt bad for me because it was my first game and I actually made it quite far into the game before being eliminated. I remember Darwyn was in it.

In my first game, i was france, and was in an alliance with england till he stabbed me. pretty harsh way to start playing, as i was set for a draw, but i guess thats the game.

First game ended in a draw, if I'm remembering the right one. I drew Germany and had a solid alliance with France. Not representative of a typical game (I'm pretty surprised that France never stabbed me) but still fun.

Then I tried a bunch of live games and kept drawing Italy, which I have yet to learn to play correctly. Ha.

I've been here a month only so it's not hard to remember my first game... the problem is I started two on the same day so they are both my first games. I'll never forget them because I was stuck as Italy in BOTH games. Ended up with a front-head collision against Austria in one, was helped by Turkey to eliminate Austria but was just as quickly turned on by Turkey to be eliminated. The other one, I lasted all the way to the end, allied with France and Austria and I had a back and forth between friends and foes until we finally became good allies and worked together. France ended up winning but it was a PPSC so I did alright too.

It was with some real life friends of mine, I was trying to teach them the game. I was England and withstood a brutal stab from France, but my friend Brian (who was playing Italy) managed to pull off a solo. I was a close second, but that only counts in the Olympics.

The next time I got them together to play I schooled them as Austria.
Austria, live game. Held on to be a part of a draw because I got stabbed late by KyleFC's Turkey, I think, who was pushing for a solo. We stopped him only for someone else to make a solo push, and then got a 4 or 5 way draw out of it.

I think it was gameID=6680 in which Austria kept trying to hit Italy and forced Italy to turn on him. Unfortunately, stratagos as France decided to turn on Italy when he CDd and I picked up the CD position. I don't know who had been in it originally, but they were doing fine right up to that CD.

I couldn't tell you which was my first game when I started in the position instead of filling a CD.

But I could tell you about the game on the judges where I met Crazyter and a suicidal take over player insisted we had to let him in our backfield or he was going to throw the game. He threw the game and Crazyter and I lost as a result of his (the crazy suicide takeover player) unreasonableness.

Umm. Did the poster of this thread attempt meta? Using outside game talk? O.o. Or was I the only one.
Aside from that
My first game was Turkey, and Draug of all people was Russia, and I survived with Tunis after he stabbed me, and he did it well, but I failed my supports one 1 turn, and that lost me it >.>
Oh, Draug's Russia got your Turkey, too?

And no, Bask wasn't metagaming there. You can use outside chat features (IM) to carry on negotiations. You just can't use events from outside the game to influence a game. For example, basedGod fucked my bitch, but I can't revenge stab basedGod, and not just because his swagga's to the max, but because he fucked my bitch outside of the game, so I can't use that in the game.

I remember it taking several turns to figure out why all the colored arrows were a turn behind.
My first game here was a classic 24hr turn. I was France, and got the solo. Then I celebrated by fucking President Eden's bitch (he wasn't even in the game).

My first game here was my first game of diplomacy ever...I was Austria, opening was good, manage to take much of the Balkans, but then I made one great mistake and the tide turned against me. Russia soloed the game and I survived with one unit holding Bulgaria.

In my first game some years back (on a now deleted account) I was England, and I didn't fully understand the rules. I would support hold an attacking unit and so on. In the end I lost Britain but held onto Portugal, having somehow persuaded my nemesis France that he should let me live, that I would somehow help him. I can't remember if he destroyed me, I think he eventually did.

I also kept drawing Italy in the beginning. I was like "hey cool, I can take Tunis no questions asked" but never really succeeded. That day will come.

How do I pause?
Sorry for the seemingly dumb question, I've pressed the pause button, as have a few of the other players in our game, but the time seems to keep counting down. Does everyone in the game have to click pause? Or does pause just prevent the turn from processing?

It's our first time playing on the site, I searched the FAQ, and couldn't figure out exactly how pausing works. Thanks in advance for the answer!

Cool-headed and fair debate is what made it great, but the recent influx of trolls and flamers and just generally ill-willed people have sickened the forum, and this MUST be fixed.
