He asserts that only taxation reflects compassion demonstrated in programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, and any cuts to these demonstrate a lack of compassion.

The fact that the poll after poll shows that the core of support for these programs comes from recipients shows greed not compassion.
I want to receive what I did not earn and am willing to use political power and coercion to get what I want for myself.
