Not true at all. Reyes could still go, there are 3 days to go and many blockbuster deals are done at the deadline. They know they have an extremely valuable commodity in Reyes and they could be waiting for the right offer. The fact he isnt gone yet means nothing but the mets are not as stupid as they once were.
"Reyes wants a lot of money, but also has made it clear he'd like to stay with the Mets and David Wright, if he can, since the two are friends and Citi Field might as well be called Reyes Field for as much as he owns that park."
You mean when he isnt injured for half the year or hitting 70

below what he is now when it isnt a contract year
"He's EXACTLY the kind of player that Citi was built for...and he knows it and they know it, so if they trade him, it'll just mean they have to go out and get another Reyes or wait a few years and hope another emerges...they have their franchise player NOW, and it's thusly cheaper and more logical to trade others around him in order to pay for hm rather than sell him off only to pay for another Reyes someday."
How can you call someone a franchise player who has missed so many games? He makes his living on his legs, and his legs have shown they might not be able to keep up.
"I don't buyn that they can't keep Reyes--the contracts for Ollie, Castillo, Beltran, and K-Rod are all off the books, now...that frees up a lot more moeny for them to committ to Reyes..."
Or 3 other players and the top flight prospects you will get for him.
