Well, if it was a stupid move which leads to a player or alliance going for a solo which will not include you, then yeah, I'd say its okay for them to write that. I write scathing responses to stabs all the time, but usually I get a bit more involved than this person, citing information, possible future moves and such that another nation could do to get a huge advantage

But yeah, shrug it off. Look at my thread, there's a nice link that Eden put up which you could copy and paste to this guy haha

Occasionally, intimidation tactics making you defend against some irrational attack that's not coming. There is no such thing as "not okay" for him to write. Anything that accomplishes what he wants in the game is fair play. Either way, don't take it personally.

There basically isn't a line. We self-moderate pretty well around here -- if someone's being an asshole to you, keep hammering 'em, I say! They're only resorting to it out of anger and desperation anyway, which means you're doing something right on the field. Even if they were courteous I'd keep hammering 'em. It's 1904, so there's no way there's a solo threat around... probably just really sour grapes.

There is no line on this website. Say pretty much what you want, except make false accusations that waste the mods time, or post cheating accusations in the forum or talk about on-going games... I think that covers it. Other than that say what you want. Most people, however, are intelligent enough to understand that we are playing *diplomacy* here, and some tact can take you a long way.
In this case I would suggest you don't let it phase you, and if it does, don't let the other player know that it phased you... Just keep smiling.

On the subject of dealing with stabbers. I think the best way is to remain civil, even friendly.
1. Despite the betrayal you may still need his help and he might just give it to you.
2. If you really do want revenge, why tip him off by showing your anger? Be devious, be friendly, make him think that you will be his janissary, when really you are setting him up for some payback.

Generally I think anger and emotional play indicates a horrible and erratic player which should not be trusted with a screwdriver, let alone an alliance. (They generally get killed by me)

But sometimes the "emotion" is faked to direct the focus of the other player. I've done it so the other player didn't notice my ally getting ready to gut him before. Then laughed my ass off.
