Hi Everyone,
Just a heads up to all of you out there in Houston and the surrounding area:

This weekend is OwlCon (www.OwlCon.com), Houston's premier boardgaming event. One round will be played on Friday at 8pm. The event will be run by Bryan Arensman, one of regulars in the Houston Diplomacy scene. Beginners are welcome. (I will be there but will only be playing if needed).

The second round will be at 3pm on Saturday. This round will be run by Jeff Johanningman from Austin. Again, beginners are welcome!

We would love to see new faces come out and play so tell your friends!

Minimum age: You must be 13 years of age or older to participate in this event.

Diplomacy - the classic game of international intrigue and strategy, set in Europe circa 1900. Play as one of the major powers - England, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Turkey, or Russia. Invade your neighbors, negotiate alliances, and stab your friends in the back when they aren't looking. The rules are simple to learn, but the strategy comes from knowing who to trust and when to betray them.

Minimum age: You must be 13 years of age or older to participate in this event.

Trust and treachery are the entertaining ingredients in this Game of International Intrigue. You control one of 7 Great European Power prior to WWI. Your armies and fleets can dominate Europe, but only with the cooperation of your neighbors. Never forget, they are all trying to expand their territory, too, and you could be the target! Luck plays no part in Diplomacy. Cunning and cleverness, honesty and perfectly-timed betrayal are the tools needed to outwit your fellow players. Who do you trust?
