Email the mods and get them to force a draw if it is a true stalemate

what makes a stalemate true?

Can you PM me the game link? Or post it on here? I know it's generally not great form to call someone out on the forums, but if it's a real stalemate then you can PM or e-mail the moderators -- and the best way to ensure it's a real stalemate is to have people check.

I think Hellenic is just warning you to be sure it's an actual stalemate and that the 17-SC power can't win by guessing the defense right and grabbing an 18th center. Hellenic and I were recently in such a game, where hellalt looked at first glance like he'd been stopped at 17 -- but our coalition didn't actually have a stalemate, one could eventually guess the right defense (or in our case, we had to guess his attack and react accordingly) and grab center #18 (and hellalt did, props to him for sticking with it).

Also, if the 2 lesser powers are allied and there is no stalemate line between them, they may eventually break the alliance and start fighting one to the other.

Took hellalt about 6 years too. But if there is no way he can take 18 SC's without you fucking up your orders then you can email them

@Bob: my hunch is that the player isnt a regular and just doesnt know how to draw....the stalemate is incredibly obvious.

@Daiichi: i suppose you are right but the game is WTA gunboat so I don't really see a stab occurring...both of the little powers havent substantially changed their orders in about 9 or 10 years. it seems bizarre to keep the game going forever just because one of us could theoretically stab the other.

I could see this happening in a non-gunboat because the larger power might believe he can eventually convince one of the smaller powers to change tack. but in a gunboat, if the pattern is holding for 10 years, i'm not sure why anyone would think it would ever change.

Yeah just email the moderators and force a draw.

Just because the stalemate's obvious doesn't mean ava's willing to accept a draw. Stamina's an issue when you play him.
