@peterwiggin - look at your list of the games, a lot of them are 5 minute games, some gunboats, some aren't.
@drano019 - don't put words I didn't say into my mouth. I clearly stated that different kind of stabs are treated differently. A stab in Autumn 1901 is different than a stab in 1908 that gives someone a solo instead of a two-way draw. The first is meaningless, the second signals that this player is not trustworthy in the end-game.
Look, people, you are all missing my point, which is as stated below:
1. There are different kind of games here (gunboats, live gunboats, anonymous games, 24 hours+ anonymous press, 24 hours+ non-anonymous, add that to the 3 kind of maps that there are here). Each type of game encourages different behavior.
2. There are different kind of players here. Some are plain liers, some are always telling the truth, some want to achieve a 2-way draw and some want to get a solo, some fight for GR, and some are not even aware of the GR (you would be surprised how many people with 500+ points have no idea what GR is - since the only way to hear about GR is from this forum and not a lot of people write/read here).
3. If there was one winning strategy, we would all be playing it. There is no one single winning strategy, and even if there was one - not everybody would be able to bring this strategy to life, since it requires a lot of skills that a lot of players don't possess.
4. Different players have different goals. Live with it.
And most important:
=============================================================
5. There is no one "correct" way to play the game and there is no "incorrect" way to play the game. Therefore, don't tell people they are playing "correctly" or "incorrectly".
