What would happen if the baskets in Basketball were lowered by, say, two feet?

Think long term regarding the skills that would dominate such a game and the type of player, especially in terms of physique, that would come to dominate.

With regard to the opening post, there are a number of cross-spots used for training:

head tennis in football is one; and
football volleyball is another.

Football-volleyball is insane. I don't play football and I can't play volleyball. How good do you think I am at football-volleyball?

Players use football volleyball to help improve the technique of trapping a ball in the air with the foot (feet). Same rules as Volleyball except that only the feet are used. It is a very good way of learning to control a moving ball.

There is an ancient version of this that uses something like a shuttlecock.

Chess boxing is a fantastic sport.

Methinks there should be height devisions in basketball along similar lines to weight devisions in boxing. It would end the current injustice that millions of people are denied the right to play top level basketball just because of the length of their legs. And midget basketball would be great to watch :D

That would be altering a fundamental construct of the game and undermining the principles of honour, dignity, and sporting excellence on which basketball is based. Shame on you, sir!

In my mind a see a full size court in which to score the Small Forward is launched through the air towards the basket by the Power Forward in a crowd pleasing dwarf toss manouver!

(Indeed, judging by the names of basketball positions it seems clear to me that Midget Basketball is exactly what James Naismith had in mind when he invented the sport)

Chess boxing: you play chess for 10 mins, then its a round of boxing, then more chess etc. You win by winning the chess game or getting a knockout.
