Can someone help me figure out what happened here?
In a recent game I tried to pull of a move that required me to move out of Rumania to attack Sevastopol while moving my army from Bulgaria into Rumania again, I assumed Galicia would attack Rumania so I had my ally attack him to keep his move canceled. My army got stuck in Bulgaria however.

That's all a bit convoluted, the gameID=20630 if you could just check it out and tell me what happened so I don't make the same mistake again. Thanks!

Looking for new players.

This sister site to webdip is full of variants. I especially like France vs. Austria. This is a great variant for playing live games as you only need 2 players. Anyone interested should sign up and we can play a game now.

A Problem with the Deadline counter.
Hi, I switched computers and something weird is happening. When I log into my account on this particular computer the Deadline counter for my games are normal for a couple of seconds and then I get "Now" instead of the time to move. Any ideas if there is a setting or something I need to change?

Austria in a Live Game
I think that the diplomacy required for Austria in a live game is overkill. It is just too easy for Russia/Turkey to split it up without even thinking... definitely the worst nation in a live game. There is too much diplomacy needed and not enough will power from other players.

perhaps, but it is so much fun! when you are that up against the wall, u need to reach for that extra something in your diplomatic skills. start making crazy deals just to stay alive. manipulate, deceive, ah, love that diplomacy!

Austria is tough. You can still negotiate in live games, and negotiate much. If all people do talk, I'd say just play 10min and you are settled.

In reality there are two problems:
- people are deaf, especially in live games. Don't expect to be answered at all by some players. Maybe thy cannot handle the workload of live games and they just won't respond. You will have problems with Germany, too, if people just play deaf-
- Italy. For God's sake it is Italy, and Italy alone. Italy attacks Austria more often than not. If he is your ally, and Germany is your ally, too, R/T get nowhere. Because you can hold the lines vs. R/T if you play the Balkan gambit (which you can seldomly do because Italy attacks you; Tri->Alb, Bud->Ser followed by Alb->Greece; Ven->Gal seems to be the better choice to stand off an attack from Russia.) and let ITaly and Germany attack War/Aeg/EMed. It is not too easy for R/T to overrun Austria if the first year goes right. For that, your burden lies on Italy, Italy, Italy. If you can trust him and he trusts you, R/T will have problems taking you out.

Well Italy definitely screwed me over in the game I just played. But also I would agree that the biggest detraction is the lack of actuall Diplomacy.
The biggest problem with Austria in live games is idiot Italys who attack on the first turn. Italy and Austria MUST be friends or both will die, virtually guaranteed. If they can agree to work together, they can roast Turkey without too much trouble, even with an antagonistic Russia. But Task 1 for Austria is convincing Italy not to be an idiot. Easier said than done . . .
