Does it exist? Does it have any sort of merit? In real life, diplomacy, or even metaphorically like in politics or something, discuss.

This game changed a lot, any criticisms... just because I won doesn't mean I couldn't have done better.

Is this true?
Dave Bishop says that a mod told him if u get a country, the odds of getting it in the following game is halved- a special thing with the game. Any truth to this claim?

The Socratic method.
I want to hear some peoples opinions on this one. The method is that you answer a question with a question. Example-"Where are you from?" reply- " What purpose causes you to ask such a question?".
It either works or its just annoying. I go what annoying since this is probalby the reason he got his head cut off lol.

FIGurative Interpretation
For those in gameID=16346...
As I invited several of you personally, it has been brought to my attention I have an unfair advantage in knowing/having a good idea who's in the game. Obviously I'm one of them. I'll leave it up to you if you tell people you're in or not I guess. Also, Since I've had to start this thread for this reason then I've made it back to a proper gunboat (we can use this if needed)

Analyists Requested!
I'm a fairly new player, and I've brushed up on a few strategy articles I've found online. I just wanted to ask any commentators out there if they think I stabbed at the appropriate time in this game. Naturally, it wasn't perfect, because it was expected. I'm just curious if the timing was right.

France is still entangled in England, but Burgundy is a fairly effective bottleneck for me. Turkey has experienced a revival, and I wonder if I should have remained focused on the eastern front for another turn or so...
denis (864 D)

who did you stab
France?
then no that was a bad stab but it worked out fine because it countered his
Triskelli (146 D)
06 Dec 09 UTC
Yeah, I've had an alliance with France since 1901
denis (864 D)
06 Dec 09 UTC
well its just bad for the both of you from my point of view
Triskelli (146 D)
06 Dec 09 UTC
So you're saying that because my move was broadcast rather obviously the turn before, he could see me coming and prevent an effective stab? But I am in an appropriate position to drive a semi-stalemate with France now?

How would you reccommend working myself out of this?
denis (864 D)
06 Dec 09 UTC
the point is that it doesn't matter at this point the best stargety is work together and get past the stab anc contain italy and then you have a chance at draw
Triskelli (146 D)
06 Dec 09 UTC
Italy is already my ally... I want France's centers, but I need to work around the bottleneck tactically.

...Do you think Italy is likely to turn traitor?
denis (864 D)
06 Dec 09 UTC
If italy is in his right mind he will later if not now
Triskelli (146 D)
06 Dec 09 UTC
I disagree; Italy is far too entangled with Turkey in the southeast; In a quick stab he might be able to take Vienna, but I think I'll be able to hold him off if he does.

Besides, it'd be lame if I was stabbed by the same guy twice in one game...

You shouldn't really discuss games in progress

Triskelli: This is a game-in-progress. You shouldn't encourage comments in the forums about games that have not ended. That said,
JECE (1248 D)

denis, it does not look like a mutual stab at all.
orathaic (1009 D(B))

You're right, it would be lame for you to open yourself up to a second stab from the same person...

were you I probably would have supported Russia against turkey by now, (to have an ally in the east to use against italy) or finished off russia + england before stabbing france (and possibly waiting until france had fleets in the med (far away from you)

Italy should be done with turkey fairly fast (unless they start working together) and considering how well austria was dismantled i'd say italy will be a major threat.
Wow....I am really surprised at the veterans of this site that are commenting on an ongoing game. Poor form, guys.

TH simple answer to me is that you shouldn't have stabbed.
England still wasn't down and you could have taken more in Russia.

Anon Games
Personally I would prefer it if you could see who was in a game during pregame, but that this was then hidden when the game goes live. What do others think?
