i don't think that's stalling. if you want shorter phases, join games with shorter phases.

That's just if you have Vista.

It allso gives more time or chances for someone to some diplomacy. Who knows a good ideal might come along.

I can tell you many of the people in the forum "stall" for all of the reasons mentioned above. Time and timing have a lot to do with getting things accomplished in a game. Once I learned to use the time for negotiations I feel I took a giant leap forward in my play.

There is reasonable stalling and unreasonable stalling. I'm in a game on the korean site where a guy with 1 unit left logs in every day or two and does nothing. So his unit keeps holding and the turns keep on taking the full amount of time and he isn't talking to anyone and he doesn't go into CD because he keeps logging in to do nothing.

And unfortunately he is in a corner where we can't kick him out because we are too busy fighting each other to deal with him. Ugh.

So yeah, I've got a list with one name on it.

Reasonable time-taking is one thing, but that's definitely something else. That's ridiculous, Alderian.

I find it more frustrating when it's someone who has already lost. When we're waiting for them to disband their last two armies for two whole days, and they don't even bother to log in and the system does it automatically... it's just preposterous.

My two cents is the adjudicator could consider those cases as finalized. After all, they have no choice to make or chance to save themselves, just the opportunity to annoy others one last bitter time.

Just a note that, even if you finalize when your disbands come around and they are the only option, I've noticed the game still shows the !!. It happened to me when I was eliminated and I think it may have caused the game to wait the full turn length, even thought I had clicked the finalize button.

*even though I had... not thought.

I've seen weird things...like a guy purposely getting on right at the deadline, then making his moves. Of course, that's fine and all, but I couldn't help but notice that his Ghost Rating was high, his imminent loss was going to hurt that, and it was the end of the month...

But maybe I'm just paranoid.

I didn't know that happened, Draugnar. I may be judging someone unfairly, then.

The guy with only one army left might be hoping for a draw. That looks a lot better in your stats than a defeat.

I don't finalise until I'm sure, absolutely sure, that all diplomacy (talking/negotiating/planning/lying through your teeth) is over.
