it's common for me to invite people i dislike to games so that they can destroy me.
another time i was playing a public chat game as germany. i suggested an anglogermanrussian alliance. But england had stp and russia norway. i suggested they change supply centers and move south with me.
the other players started some kind of propaganda against me suggesting that i was patronizing england and russia. my former allies turned against me and 6 players attacked germany all together.
needless to say i was dead within 2 years...
i hate when weak people find strength in crowds...

Nothing real world is involved in my games. I play many private games with friends, and I'm very often allied with and fighting tooth-and-nail against the same person in different games. It's a game. Don't take it so seriously. You'll live longer.

it happens a lot to russia no matter if russia is a weak player or a strong player people seem to go after russia.

@NPRZ - i know it's a game, and i don't take it seriously at all, i was just wondering.
i as you have played games with the same people and have found myself fighting players who are my allies in other games.

I did once, in a drunken rage, take over a 2 SC CD, worth far too many points, to slow down a player I had a vendetta against. They refused to pause for me in another game I was winning, causing me to CD!

"Captain James Tiberius Kirk" did it once to try to anger me. Then he got defeated. It was pretty funny, actually.

Occassionally I pretend to attack unpopular people out of personal reasons, but its really just to garner support for moves and such :D

I took part in a particularly effective stab against a certain player, which didn't go down too well... he then later joined one of my games and immediately attacked me. Strangely, nobody in that game seemed willing to ally with me either...

I have had it happen to me a few times.. Personally I never really pay that much attention to who the person behind the country is, so I don;t really remember who did what to me in the past... Some people really need to let the bitterness go :)

You shouldn't. If at all possible treat each game individually!

Yeah, you tell them figle. That way they'll never know who the constant stabbers are and ruin their only strategy :P

The key is to go into the game with an open mind. If you join after of revenge intent on hitting a specific person then that is unacceptable metagaming. But, if you know a person like sto stab at a particular point in the game so you CYA to prevent it, that is just fine. The key is in the mindset/intent. Race car drivers scout teir competition and know who does what kind of things at what point in their races, but they don't go into one balls-to-the-wall set on putting another driver out of the race through any means possible.
