I ask, because I'd love to have 2 accounts...1 for WTA and 1 for PPSC where the scoring is separate. To me, they are such a different game that I'd like to see how I'm doing in each separately. My current account has never played a WTA, so I wanted to create a new account just for WTA.

The answer will be no. You are not allowed to have multiple accounts. It is a banning offence.

what about I am down to 2 points because I joined a bunch of "Live" games that never turned out live and they are dragging on for weeks. I am down to 2 points and cannot join a real live game today. I am so frustrated that I want to create a 2nd account. I thought the rules said that you could never go below 100 points, so you would never be in this situation.

WEll, you have to be wary of your own points.

You have at least 98 points invested, and if every game you invested those points in turned out bad, too bad for you.

and you'll get the points back the games finish.

right and I am doing well in some of those games but i wish i had 5 points to play a live game today. cant get those points back until games finish

Mapleleaf raises a good point. Civil_Disorder_Italy has mentioned on this forum (in the beginning post of the thread "Out-there idea for a new phpDip release") that he has two accounts. Not wanting to cause trouble, but why hasn't one of his accounts been banned?

When someone has two accounts but is being responsible and has them for an understandable reason (such as making a second to deal with cd games thinking we'd be ok with this) then we leave them to finish the games before closing the account.
If we banned the account it would have an adverse affect on their games, which we don't want. When cdItaly has finished his games the account will be closed, and if the player was to make another account he would be in real trouble (not saying you will, I trust you here, just trying to explain the situation).
For separate game multi's I've dealt with it depends on the state of the game. If they're already paused/already got CDs etc then I might ban, but otherwise we wait. I also keep an eye on accounts that have been told to finish and close (and will email players for an explanation if they join another game).
Basically: for the greater good :D

Your points on hand + your points "at risk" in games will always be at least 100. You have 98 points at risk in 7 games.

Crazyter, I can understand the need to fuel your addiction for Diplomacy, but we had a serious problem in the past where people joined too many games, abandoned the ones they didn't do well in, and had their play diminish overall. If you want to play in more games, you should join smaller staked games, but I warn you that your quality of play will diminish the more games you take on, and that you'll find yourself doing far better if you've invested in a few games and you really take the time to negotiate and think things through.

Crayter - you will get the points back when the game finish, ie once all of your games are done if you don't win back enough to be above 100 then you'll be "refilled" back up to 100.

This is another section of the FAQ that needs serious re-writing as everyone is always confused by it when they first join.

Terri... Rob, here. 100 total, as they say, includes points vested in current game, just as they say. That's why I'm below 100. I am in three 5 point games in the leagues.

Play them out and as soon as 1 finishes, you'll get back your full number of points vested in that one game, or however many you earned in the game, whichever is higher.

Correction, 2 now. I forgot I got eliminated in game one yesterday.
