The great thing about him is that he worked the field and did what was required and struggled hard to reach his goal which was not an easy goal to reach either. Anyone wanting to become the president of the USA have a very difficult struggle in front of them, not only black guys or white girls!

As for Leon's point, he happens to believe in racial stereotypes, even boasts about it, which is a different question than the institutional one. We're talking about two different things. Of course it's possible for institutionally disadvantaged racial groups to believe in race-based stereotypes, to have even internalized racist attitudes towards themselves, but that is of a qualitatively different level because it is not consequential if they cannot implement policies which favor their group at the institutional level, which is what MTV is getting at.
