Heres part 1---
Mountain Game 5(part 1)
I draw turkey(YAH), I do enjoy turkey for the most part, but to some i know its a boring play. So, wanting to try to change my play style, i have at initial press. I know there is some talent in the field, so i send out a decent amount to all countries. Having heard from the Russian first, my press to him was the most lengthy, and with a quick response from him, i seem to have a willing ally tio the north, even though I requested a of a future disband of his southern fleet. I believe i hear from the English next, and he seems to want to move north(which i love as well), and that would require the Russian to not concentrate forces in south. I get basic pleasantries from the french(sounds good)and one word from the Austrian( Scheisse!) still dont know what this means, but i answer with one word back--HUKKA.Not so good there. The last Initial press pre 1901 press i get was Italian, and he agreed with my initial press and responded in a manner that led me to believe he might be my most desired partner. After some peculiar press between the Austrian and i, my decision was quite simple.
As turkey, the biggest problem is breaking out of the corner, and with two willing partners, i try to set up plausible ways to keep them both on the hook for as long as I can. I try to convince IA that neither have each others best interests and get them to fight, and i just try to make sure AR isnt going to work against me. With the Russian wanting to run JUGG, he plans to help me to Serbia in spring 02, but if i get lucky, the Italian might get me there in fall 01---I was lucky. this gave me the upper hand in dealing with the Austrian who was now devoutly against the Italian and also Russia as i did not need him as much. To my dismay, the English did not move north and attacked German after landing his army in Belgium in 01. Good news was the french moved against the English in the same move, and the west was going to be a cluster fuck for a long time.
In 02 and 03 i get to 6sc and now i still have possible JUGG to run and a will IT partner who helped me out of the corner. the IT is one of my favorite alliances(whether im Italy or Turkey) and i had high hopes for this to work out, the problem was Italy desire to put an Italian army in Greece, and this is completely counter to how i think the alliance should be run. It creates too much tension in the Balkans and isnt good for long term alliances(my opinion). Italy maintained his desire for this, and looking for news ways to develop my play style, i kept the Italian on the hook while i started hard press with the Austrian, and was going to allow him to have revenge on the person that fucked him from the start. Austrian on the brink of death that can exact revenge is a country that will do your bidding, so i support Austria to Trieste and hold him there, bringing him back to 3sc and the Italian dropping one. Now they would be at each others throats and i could control the Austrians growth owning SC behind him and being able to stab when i saw fit.Mean while i was placating the Russian as he moved into Germany, with the English.
04 and 05, i have the Austrians back as he attacks the Italian, and i decide to attack the Russian. I take rumania and dance with the Russian after i make some bone head moves, but we continue to talk and i continue to lie to him(i feel like valis)(OY). the Austrian makes no progress against the Italian, and did not take so of my advice that would have helped him. I knew time was running short with the Austrian, because he could not get that next SC to get to 4. I also knew that at 4sc i would have to attack him myself, as i really never wanted him to grow too big(sorry Austria)
06 was the turning point again in this game. The Austrian decides to stab me in spring(??????????) that was the most foolish, as it allowed me to counter before fall. the Russian cant really help as he and i are still doing the tango, but gave me time to reach back out to the Italian and make amends. the north and west was changing too, and EG was becoming a growing threat, and have already taken parts of France and Russia and growing. I believe the Italian saw this and it was time for us to put differences aside and meet the challenge.
