United Nations (Special Rules!)

It's a diplomacy match I'm setting up here to simulate the United nations. It'll be more of a role play than a match. Reply for questions!

Still, Austria in Munich, Berlin, and St. Pete is impressive.

I find your lack of fleets disturbing.

As Austria I would not have taken a draw in that position.

It was definitely an interesting game. Lots of different outcomes were possible, but once we had hit that point, and the fact that Italy and I were unwilling to let you solo at all costs, allowed for an alliance of desperation to keep you at bay. For a while there I was quite certain you were going to Solo.
I agree with Jamiet. I don't know why Austria at least wouldn't play out a bit longer to build a third fleet and try to take more centers from Italy. Building a third fleet was a sure thing when the game was drawn.

I think its a draw personally. A is likely to loose StP and Mun long term, in fact he cant hold them. Than you have four more sc's to go. Italy is pretty easy to plug, no way A is gonna scrape up the whole boot + Tunis in this position.

My quick two cents: it seems like, looking back (which is always deceptive), if you were aiming for a solo, you should have stabbed Italy harder in autumn 07 (Con - Smy). Then you could have taken the whole boot (when building fleets), you can get Mos and Ank anyway, no need to rush those. Germany looks occupied with England still in 08, so there's a good chance you would have held on to Mun. Only problem is Tunis/StP. Still don't think you would have solo-ed. Italy just needs to have that shut.
They can't retake Munich with a fleet in Kiel, and the rearranging required for that is challenging tactically, and also diplomatically because putting an army in Kiel might kill Russia or get him running around behind Germany's line ruining their draw.

It's not 100% clear to me that Austria wouldn't be able to get 2 centers from Italy in the time it takes germany to reposition his fleets to take StP. The attempt would take a bit of guesswork, getting three fleets in play, but it looks to me like there was a non-zero chance Austria could pull that off and land a lucky convoy on the boot.

Italy could make this a perfect stalemate in one move. If he took Apulia with his Ionian fleet, Ionian with his Tyrrhenian fleet (with Tunis support). And put Marseilles in piedmont, piedmont in Tuscany, Venice in Rome, and Tyrolia in Venice, then Austria couldn't have done anything to break through with only three fleets. And all of these moves could have been accomplished in one season.
IMHO the Austrian solo became very tough after the builds in W06. That should have been a fleet in Tri, would have changed the balance considerably.

And allowing Russia in that draw is clearly an act of mercy.

DeathLlama had a very willing partner in me for a very long, long time. He pulled the old Ssorenn bait of, "Want a 2WD?" Actually, I'm not certain who came up with it...but anyway, it formed the lens with which I focused on the game. Until it became apparent that Austria's growth outpaced mine and they'd be foolish to NOT go for the solo. An errant NMR on my part made the wholesale reconciliation with Germany a necessity.

@seth24c, I was considering that scenario for had the game gone on.

@MoW Heyyyyyy I thought I did well to somehow get included in that draw!

Not my act of mercy.

THOUGHTS ON ALL OF YOU BECAUSE I <3 JUDGING
---
Austria (DeathLlama8): You're the best! WHY DIDN'T YOU STAB ITALY INSTEAD OF RUSSIA - HE WAS /WIDE OPEN/
England (Jokke): Maybe getting two people to support you into Belgium wasn't the best idea - you rightly thought yourself one of the better diplomats on the board, but were unable to convince FG out of an attack on you. I'd have to see the press behind that to tell you more.
France (Ranscott47): I didn't really get that much press on you. Can't say much, except for "that's not good". You seemed to be able to talk your way into the Sealion, but you couldn't talk your way into another ally once Germany stabbed you.
Germany (Atrum): Tactically and diplomatically - you can achieve your goals - but that's only if you set them. As France(?) said, "a foreign policy based entirely on others' suggestions is not a good thing." (paraphrasing). Work on strategy some more - you should've been gunning for a solo.
Italy (Hamilton Brian): You're too trusting. Also you have an NMR problem. I found you easier to work with than before, though, so that's a plus.
Russia (Draffin): Solid tactics, decent diplomacy. Hats off for getting into the draw.
Turkey (The_Captain1234): Make things happen! Somebody was going to get shafted in that IAR alliance, and you should've tried to identify who it was and pry them off.

I don't trust anyone anymore. :) And...no more NMRs. Each time I drop one, I have to kick myself in my own nuts!

world game! League of Nations-2
It's like it sounds. It's a world game. Just a basic one.

Also, if I can get enough people interested, I'd like to play a world game called "United nations" that is more of an RPG, Where we just debate shit and military movements is so big deal and not common.

Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is one of the main sources of funding for ISIS / ISIL / Daesh.

Saudi Arabia routinely executes political prisoners and children, usually by beheading. Over 150 have been executed this year. Another 55 are due to be beheaded in the next few days.

Thanksgiving
The one festival in which a Western nation actually celebrates a huge influx of immigrants of a differing religious and cultural background arriving from overseas and all but wiping out the indigenous population.

Interesting in the context of current goings-on in Europe, the Middle East, etc.

Time for George Osborne to fuck the vulnerable even more
Brilliant and succinct precis by a very sound economist, ahead of today's Spending Review statement, which will herald more pain and misery for the UK's poorest and most vulnerable. The Tory plan to use "austerity" as a vehicle to destroy British social democracy continues apace.
