Plus, although fundamentally Diplomacy is a fairly straight forward game, trying to teach it to someone can be a nightmare. I'm not saying a full blown tutorial is necessary, but wouldn't it be nice to try and teach some people on a big HDTV the basics and integrate the timer for diplomacy, orders, dispute resolution, etc. A console version of Diplomacy would be stellar. I enjoy webDip, but with all due respect none of you are my friends. I have players whom I trust in the game, who I know will stab, etc., but when will we ever do face to face? Never. I have friends from college and family members who all play, but we live anywhere from one to two hours apart. We can all set aside a Saturday to play every other month, but factor in drive time, kids, etc. It is nearly impossible to play a full game. Integrate the F2F camera, and voila! We can all play, talk to each other, and essentially add the extra time needed by not having to drive. I really do think a console version would benefit Diplomacy in the long run as well, but it is particularly suited to the Wii U, especially since Big N is dead set on family oriented, group played games. Make the game so it is suited to playing face to face, with friends online, and strangers online like webDip, and BAM! A while new door of Diplomacy opens to a greater public.
