Chaqa, the only gunboat solo I currently have is as Austria. It's one more reason I believe Italy should give Austria hell, but then that reinforces my belief that Austria should flail wildly. Which feeds into Italy supporting hold Trieste and moving to piedmont in the fall.

2WL, I say a lot of this in jest, but we haven't had a good gunboat strategy discussion in a few weeks. Was hoping this might spark something fun or useful.... Maybe a game or three? :)

And I know you're joking, I am as well, but there really are no hard and fast rules to gunboat. Having a discussion on such is pointless and will only invite the anti-gunboat trolls into the conversation.

Lol let me finish about half of my world gunboats and I'll start up another 'round the map series. :)

I do think there are /some/ rules, like if Turkey gets five units, he has a strong chance of making it to the draw. So the rule of thumb as turkey is get center #5, and as not turkey, stop the Turk from getting five centers.

Actually, there is no strategy in Diplomacy. It's just a small talk. Gunboat is all about strategy.
