I think the best one was when my girlfriend, apparently under the impression that a "menage a trois" was in fact a conversation for three, proposed a "menage a trois" during a discussion on some historical point of reference with the two of us and her dad.

To be fair, by sheer quantity she probably would be able to fill the thread with just quotes from me. Definitely the gaffe machine of the relationship. BUT she has the best ones when she does slip up

Sorry Zultar, I've been having a difficult time coming up with an appropriate example. My wife is brilliant and cool. She's smarter than me in pretty much everything that doesn't involve lying, cheating, stealing, forgery, or treason.

The best I can come up with on the fly is her explanation of how old people, back in their day, could walk uphill to school both ways:

The school is on a hill. In the morning, the kids have to walk uphill (barefoot and in the snow) to get to school. The weight of all the kids makes the school sink into the ground, so that it rests at the bottom of a crater. When the kids leave school, they have to walk uphill out of the crater. The release of weight upon the school allows it to retake its natural hilly form for the next morning.

PE's dad breaks out the good scotch and three glasses...

Speaking of that, what *is* the good scotch? I like Laguvulin best so far, but its not so expensive. If I were to ask for a pricey (or just good) bottle for Xmas, what should it be?
