A Diplomacy Game for Literature Lovers?
Well, we've done Star Trek Diplomacy before, each power corresponding to one of the powers from Trek...anyone up for playing a game where each player of a power (we'll say Turkey counts for the whole Middle East to make it easier) takes on the persona of a great author from said country? Ex., Shakespeare/Chaucer/Dickens for England, Hugo/Proust/Racine for France, Goethe for Germany, Dostoyevsky/Tolstoy (not that one!) for Russia, etc...?

Canada's economic problem
So I am an econ major in my first year of university, so obviously I know very little compared to others about economics. However Canada has a rather strange economic problem (which I will explain below) and I think I have a viable solution to solve it. Can some of the greats on this site explain why my solution wont work (as why isn't it on the table as a solution)

I thought I had the win, but you got the stalemate line together. When France spooked backwards, it seemed like my win was guaranteed, but then he returned with English fleets as backup. I imagine I missed an opportunity, but I am not sure right now what it was.

If Obama wins...
How many conservatives are moving to Canada?
If any of them do they're idiots. Fleeing to Canada because you're concerned about the United States embracing big government a little more is a bad idea

I'm probably fleeing to Canada at some point but it's because I like Canada, not because I hate the US, though I kind of do hate the US a lot of the time.. and I'm not conservative, so….

I hate to be the one to break it to all you American's but it really doesn't matter who you "elect" because the American agenda will stay more or less the same as it always has since Kennedy.

Conservatives hate Obama but why? America hasn't changes significantly under his admin from Bush.

For example,
Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Check!
Guantanamo Bay? Check!
War on "Terror"? Check!
The Patriot Act? Not only Checked! But extended!!!
Economic Crisis? Check! (Although there's been a slight rise recently that will continue I think whomever is elected.)
Poverty? Check!
Crime? Check!
Corruption, Injustice, social gaps, lack of services, bankrupted States, lack of eduacation etc. Check!!!!

These are the very things that Bush would have done and for you Dems; If Romney is elected do you really think these things will change? The answer is......NO!!!!!!!

When are you going to realize that your Democracy is a sham? They all belong to the same organizations and are funded by the same institutions and therefore they do basically the same things. You argue over ideologies (as your suppose to) instead of discussing realities. Stop fighting over the little local issues that mean little and start demanding that anyone in Government do what's right for America for once and not whats right for their donors (masters).

Also, demand that the "Federal" Reserve be privatized once again. All of America's problems originate from that one fatal move. Take you country back from the financial King. Try and I'll bet you'll be shocked by their brutal response.

Proof that the Federal Reserve is above the Law and answers to no one. (At least in their eyes and apparently in the Law's eyes too.

Martial Law anyone?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt8FKYt1CW4&feature=related

And this one should scare you. They have planned for, and voted for, a bill that gives them the Authority to basically do whatever they want. To you and your families. Notice how the speaker is shocked when he probably reads this for the first time.

Only 10? This is the single most important issue facing not only the US but the entire world. It is my opinion that it's these select few institutions, (The federal reserve, the bank of england and the world bank) along with their smaller partners that are to blame for the current economic crisis.

Please, anyone explain this to me.

If the world's economy is based on credit and the institutions responsible for that credit suddenly refuse to give it, what happens? An economic crisis. They know that our entire financial system is based on credit because they are the ones that created it and they know that if you remove credit from the system that it collapses so we must ask ourselves ...why? What can the banking institutions gain by such an action? I won't answer this question with my observations but challenge you to find the answer yourselves. One hint though is look for the big fish eating the little one, look for poorer countries being indebted to the richer ones. Then I'll ask you to dig deeper into this strange situation and educate yourselves as to the question "why would they do such a thing?"

Well I'm sorry for my graciousness. Would you like 10,000? Some of my posts deserve it too, believe me. You're wrong, though, the world's biggest issue is the world, not pieces of paper that people like you say are magically worth something. If I wanted to go buy a head of broccoli and offered you a small piece of scrap metal, you would ask me why I was giving you a small piece of metal that would be worth a good sum of money. I'd then take out a piece of paper that has a face and a number on it and you'd give me my broccoli.

And the basis behind banking/credit crises is part of western capitalism. If you don't push the limits and work to make the biggest profit in the shortest time, you can't keep up with your competition, and thus, every 20-30 years, the banks run out of surplus. It's a really simple pattern and to try and complicate it is to in essence deny the history of the United States' banking issues because it is always the same basic principle.

It's neo-liberal/neo-conservative idiocy. But, the political parties are the ones that are the neo-'s, not the people. The conservative side in Canada is the one going neo...as far as I can tell.

And, everyone hates Neo, I mean...the first Matrix movie was ok, but the other two just made him look like an idiot.

Show Me Something Interesting
The other day, someone told me I am too caught up in the past to function appropriately. It was then made a point that my taste in music accurately depicted the same conceptual view of my personality. So tell me, strangers, what is better today than it was yesterday? And can someone please explain the appeals of ANY form of modern music? I'm not sorry when I say that I am satisfied with listening to this for the rest of my life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ_JAgHxR14

I know it isn't hitting landfall for at least another week yet, but if you're out there, be aware of it. There was a public service announcement regarding it in central Indiana last night, so if we have to worry about it, the east coast should really focus on it.
