I'm sorry the game had to be canceled,I don't understand why Russia didn't want to make orders even if he were online all the time,like the rest of us.
I was England and I'm pretty sure Czech was France...

Funny thing was he put in all hold orders that last move since the deadline wasn't for another six hours yet.

I thought maybe he was playing dead so that he might sneak into Berlin and Ankara, but it seems Germany and Turkey had that idea too, and defended against the dead guy. But no matter as Russia just readied with all "hold" orders, giving up the playing dead bluff to anyone who was paying attention.

What a waste.

I was Turkey. Would really like to know who Russia was. Was not what I was expecting from this game..... all thanks to one person.

I have EOG material also..... for whether that is appropriate or not. Italy - why did it take you so long to get my hints? or was it just miscomm??

@Turkey: Yeah, things were going to start getting sticky for me there. How come you didn't just support Italy into Aegean? He **REALLY** seemed to want Aegean. I wasn't having any of it because I don't like the options that Aegean gives Italy over Eastern Med., and the fact that Italy was so insistent on Aegean was more than worrying.

I agree with your assessment of Russia........ disapointing.

I didn't let him have Aegean because I didn't want him there. At any point he could have done TUN-GRE and it would have worked. You kept bashing GRE into BUL so the cut wouldn't have been effective until the very end when I supported Russia thinking he would play normal and hold RUM.....

Actually I was bashing Serbia into Bulgaria, exactly because I saw your support orders.

but unfortunately, Turkey wouldnt help me out, and Austria was too smart :(

Did you bother to check the order log Achillies? I had BUL s APU-GRE in 01 and then BUL s TUN - GRE for consecutive turns. You kept smashing me and not taking the support. As such, I could not trust you.

Had the game continued I would have tried to take Russian centres and BUL, and then shown Austria peace so we could destroy you.

@cspieker maybe by the end, but there was at least a year where Italy could have got it and succeeded.

BTW I hadn't noticed that in a gunboat before, Bulgaria supporting Italy to Greece. I'm surprised because it seems like such a good thing to do with that Bulgaria army in Fall 1901 that doesn't have many good options if Austria has the support to Greece locked up.

Of course, for Italy to take advantage of that when Russia and Turkey appear to be playing nicely with each other, seems a bit of a risk. Could be a risk to Turkey too, if Russia and Italy team up.

I have had it work well before, but you're right it is a risk.

However, I hate being Turkey and feeling helpess about the Austria/Italy alliance. So many times I feel like Italy does not consider an alliance with Turkey (and vice versa).

I try and change the paradigms.

guilty, i was trying to be, but near end game setting up a stalemate was just guessing/going off instincts of what was best.

how often will you check the log? ever try it in a live game or too much time?

If you click the big map it shows the failed orders, which is sometimes tells you the exact same story (sometimes it is hard to see the lines, but usually it works). This takes very little time.

Personally, I only do it if a nearby unit has "held" and I want to confirm that is in fact the case.

Like Lando I check the orders whenever via the little map I can't tell what a certain unit did (looks like a hold). I usually have time enough for this even in a live game.

That big map trick will come in very handy I think.

You can also just click on "orders" at the bottom of your screen and read everyone's orders, no? Surely that's an easier way to see failed orders than translating all those lines, since you only need to check a few units anyway.

Stackelberg: the game was started when only the september GR rating was available. Luckily, the 16th, is the same on both lists though.

By 16th being last he was referring to achillies' rank of 16 all time being the lowest of all the players.

You mean Zmaj's rank. But yes, if we look at the all time list, it's different.

I was Russia. I apologise. I did not mean to ruin the game in that way - otherwise I would not have joined. I just had an unexpected problem this week. Sorry. Thanks again for asking me to join - and for your understanding.

Nevermind,the second try is on it's way...

Just got a response from Split. I've been busy and didn't check the forum. I was France. Go figure. In the new game I'll be Austria. It's my fate.
