Mapu, I used to have it pretty bad too.

There was one 2-week period when this became my schedule:
Every night at about 23:30 after my parents went to bed (they didn't like diplomacy, were suspicious of the horrendous truth) I'd join or start a live game, normally finishing about 5am. Then I'd sleep for until 7 (although sometimes the game dragged on so I would desperately try and convince people to draw so that I could jump into bed for when my mum came to wake me up), stumble into school and literally fall asleep in *every* lesson. I often fell asleep on the tube there and back too. As soon as I got home I'd do my long phase games and then crash and sleep for a couple of hours until I was called for dinner. At that point I'd check my long phase games again and spend dinner making awkward excuses to my parents about why I was so tired and distracted. After supper I'd check games again and then hang about doing nothing on the computer until my parents went to bed...

I would advise cutting down.

Between here and vDip I've been averaging about 25-30 ongoing games over the past two months. With very few exceptions they've been 1+day phases, otherwise there's no way I could do it. Haven't missed a phase yet. Not starting new games as they end - well, *trying* not to - because I'm wanting to focus on SoW games and Tour of vDip. Hopefully I'll settle into a "healthy" number of games, because the rest of my life is noticing my absence!

But brothers, hear me out: there is a cure. You don't have to sacrifice your lives and well-being to emerge on top of the bloody corpses of other nations. It is painful, but you can wean yourself off. Just do it very slowly, over 6 months or so, and you will be free.

How odd – I always thought addiction was packaged with the on-line implementation.

@Jeremiahg - The thing is you get refilled if you lose. There is no such thing as high stakes for anyone at 100 . They could lose it all in one game and get an automatic refilla s long as they don't CD.
