ever notice with women
they're either not really ready and there's more friction than maybe you'd like, or it's a slip-n'-slide? why a binary function? has anyone else noticed that?

Any Debaters?
So, really simple topic. Are there any past/current High school/College debaters here? I'd just like to see how prevalent debate (specifically in the NFL [National Forensic League]) in this community is. Post below with your event (LD, PuFo) and status please! :)

An open letter from SandGoose (mods please read).
Dear Moderator team,

With this message, I would like to apologize...
Draugnar (0 DX)

Dear Moderator team,

With this message, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience I have caused on your website. Although it was the actions of my twin brother that ultimately caused the banning of both our accounts, I would hereby like to take full responsibility for the events that ultimately led to your decision to ban me, a decision I fully respect.

However, I have spoken at length with my brother about meta-gaming with me and I have told him in very clear terms that this is not acceptable. I love this site dearly and hope that my taking responsibility for past events and apologizing for them may convince you to grant me one last chance on your site. My brother shall not be returning to the site any longer to avoid any potential confusion in the future.

I hereby promise publicly that I will respect the site rules scrupulously and will be a constructive member of this site in any way I can. Constantly supportive of the moderators in all decisions and such and such. :)

I do hope the moderators and the community can accept my apology and we can put the errors of the past behind us.

Yours,

Sandgoose

We have been more than fair and we have also been forthcoming with Sandgoose. We will not change our decision based on the amount of messages bombarded to us through emails and forum threads.

If you want to appeal our decision, please contact Kestas.

Can jmo or Yebellz please lock this thread?

Excuse me? I relayed a simple message thqat included an apology and a public declaration. Lock it, fine, but don't be dismissive like an asshole.

With your fucking attitude, I'm gonna recommend he appeal to Kestas. Your attitude fucking sucks, using word slike "bombarded with emaikls". Fuck you asshole!

Eh Draugnar, what kind of crazy is riding you tonight? Maybe you should check your attitude aswell.
The last message relayed to this forum was verbaly abusive and stupid in a way i would not have reacted in any other way then zultar did.

I'm not going to get into a shouting match with you Draugnar. I was responding to Sandgoose, not to you. You do not know how many emails we have had with Sandgoose and the amount of work we have gone through to make sure that we made the right decision. I am going to step away from this conversation now and let another mod chime in.
Fortress Door (1837 D)

wait, zultar doesn't have the power to lock threads?

I'm shocked
jmo1121109 (3812 D)

Draugnar, we are actually being quite patient and polite considering the multiple new accounts Sandgoose has made and the demands he's made of us. We've made our decision to Sandgoose clear and informed him multiple times that an appeal to Kestas is his only option, so I apologize if we are coming off as short tempered, but enough is enough. Obviously you have the option to post about this on the forum though. Just be aware our decision will not be changing, and any appeal will have to go through Kestas. Thanks for being understanding.

@zultar - the mods say "send us an email" then bitch cause they get so many eamils? I shall nickname you "Janus-tar" from henceforth.
Draugnar (0 DX)

@jmo - I posted a simple message I was asked to post. Locking it is fine. I understand being short tempered on this issue (hell, I'm one of the known hotheads around here) but I take offense at what to me reads as a sincere apology he wanted made public, presumably to show the sincerity of it, being mocked and demeaned by an asshole.
jmo1121109 (3812 D)

The thread will not be locked, because as you say, you merely posted something you were asked too. The problem Zultar had, and that I understand, is how sharply this contrasts to all the previous emails we've received in this case. Zultar was not trying to come across as demeaning, merely trying to make a point that has constantly been ignored in this case. The only way to appeal this case is through Kestas, not through us, and not through the public forum.
Draugnar (0 DX)
18 Oct 12 UTC
And I know he knows that as he is monitoring the forum as a guest. I actually figured he had sent this email to you as well and just wanted it posted here for all to see that he was accepting responsibility and making an effort to keep his brother from fucking him up again and ruining the site for everyone. If I am wrong about that, then I apologize and will echo the words: Send it to the mod email and direct it to Kestas for a review and reconsideration, Sandgoose!
Zmaj (215 D(B))

Draugnar, you've been fooled. The email was sent by his twin brother.

Draug, to be fair, they have probably seen similar letters already, and a public apology like this seems more in line with trying to garner enough public support to overturn the mod decision by mass desire. This is exactly the kind to stunt SandLuna would pull, and he already issued a letter denying his responsibility. Writing instead to say he claims full responsibility seems like a last ditch effort, not one of sincerity. If you disagree, I'd say you're probably being partial. If this were anyone else, what would such a series of actions and letters seem like?

I'm also certain zultar wouldn't say "bombarded" if they hasn't received an alarming number of emails regarding SandLuna's case.

Didn't see jmo's reply before posting. Never mind on the "seen similar emails" bit.

It's looks about as sincere as a Frenchman's marriage vows to me. If this came before the circus it would be worthy of note, but it didn't. It has all the hallmarks of a cynical ploy and if it's treated as such there is no cause for complaint.

No matter anyhow. I did as I was asked to do by Glenn, a friend from this site. I will let this go and I apologize for being my hotheaded self to zultar. I will endeavor to delay my responses in the future as I know I can kneejerk react.

Muted threads blocking home page?
Do muted threads still take up room on the home page? I really have no idea what the cutoff is for how many/what posts make it to the home page.
Just wondering if anyone knew.

Distinction Between Draws
It could just be me, but my indifference to number of points and focus on %'s of wins/draws etc stops me caring so much about the number of participants in a draw, and much more willing to try to solo with the possibility for a large draw, than just have a smaller draw, thoughts?
