Well, dub, my plan was to communicate on weekends mostly, and that's still my plan. I don't really want to cancel yet. Why not take it another round or two, and pause if somebody needs it?

In any case, there is no huge rush. We can enter orders for this phase either way.

Such are my thoughts anyway.

Damn...I'll cancel. Not sure why, though. I was never expecting daily communication, we all agreed to a 10 day phase, so complaints about length of time are silly...and I suspect comm will become more frequent after opening moves are made. Seriously, how many promises of "I'll be your friends for-evvvvvvvvvvvvver" do you need in the opening phases?

I'm willing to keep it going, there's just been little to no press this whole phase.

What shall we press about?

I currently believe all my neighbors are lying to me at this point, and do in any given game. Therefore I will make my autumn moves and see who was true to their words, as I would in any given game. When builds and strategy actually come in to play, I suspect there will be more discussion...and those that will not discuss, will probably be ganged up on and defeated, as it should be.

I'll be posting messages tonight from home to everyone, btu we shoudl stop talkign about it here beyond the discussion of cancel or not.

No matter how much press I send, I get no response. It's not really a good strong game of diplomacy and more like gunboat...I hate Krellin as a neighbor :P

I'm good to do either. I haven't been great at sending press as I'm extremely busy right now, but I also haven't received a single message this phase, nor any responses to my messages last phase, though, I did send them late last phase.

Let's give it a gunboat turn, then we will try press next phase. If it proves unsuccessful, I say we cancel or pause until we are all less busy/ more inclined to make the effort.

I must say, the majority 5/7 are voting Cancel, to respect the heart of the game, as well as the other players feel and enthusiasm regarding the game, it should be cncld

I do, I don't like gunboat. and that's what this game has become, the whole purpose of the game is now flawed. I am sticking to the cancel, I didn't sign up for postal with no mail coming in to my inbox.

I agree that I pretty much hate gunboat. I also suggest that first turns people will do what they are going to do regardless of the chatter. Let's see...opening dialogues I got offered the hand of friendship by every single neighbor...so...seriosously...did you really miss that much press in the first year?

Perhaps now that we get builds and some real strategy is going to start forming things will change.

I agree with krellin. I withdrew my cancel so Turkey couldn't get a quick and easy ou. But if everyone agrees to cancel, I will.

It's a *10* day game that you agreed to join. If it isn't moving fast enough...that's how it works. Imagine if you were playing a *true* postal game. It's too bad we dont' have the vdip ability to let someone take over a game for us. (eeee gads....did I just say that???)

Again, Sandgoose, *wait until next year* and perhaps you will see more activity. I *agree* that if is becomes gunboat, I want out. I hate gunboat. But seriously, what exactly were you expecting first year?

In all my games I make a lot of relationships first year, outlooks for the remainder of the game and set up effective allies. This 1901 was pitiful, with no one willing to talk, it's not the heart of the game, and that's why I want it cancelled.
