Shylock and The Merchant of Venice

Ok, I would like to open up a debate on Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice and its presentation of Jews through the character Shylock.
Some say the play is anti-semitic.
Some say it is a plea for tolerance.
I would like to read it as the latter and would be happy to give my thoughts on why but first - what do others think?

What is 'natural'?

There have been some arguments and discussions in the forum about what is and what is not natural, particularly in the case of homosexual instincts in human beings and animals. Can we find a consensus on what 'natural' constitutes or can we not escape the fact that 'natural' is in part a socially-constructed concept?

Is, for example, homosexuality any less natural than masturbation?

I was Austria. Italy was a dick and tried to kill me. I spent the rest of my time alive kicking his ass. Pretty much all that needs to be said there.

Very confused by the endgame. I can see G went for the 2-way, and I think that's generally a good idea, but the specific execution here seems a little lacking.

I want to ask what Sarg was thinking towards the end of the game and how he envisioned the 2way would happen, but if that is going to stir up some unpleasant stuff, then just PM me. Thanks.

Well, I really don´t like to play England on gunboats as seems everybody fear you and strike first. France jump on me at start and when he decide to leave me alone Germany go for my throat. The second one hurst badly and and I know I was doomed.
I also have to say that Germany did some great moves, but lack a lot of global strategy on my opinion, as it was obvious Turkey will be pushing for the solo and he should have taken the 3-way that is guaranteed.

I have been away most of the weekend, finished that game through my phone. The game was fun, there were good battles at many points and rdrivera had amazing defense. Fun to fight him. I knew I had to stop aggressing because Germany was growing and I wasn't. Italy was vulnerable so I scooped up some SCs and dug in to stop Germany. I could tell the whole way through he was a big threat because he never stopped attacking. So I had a long time to plan for any contingencies. I should ahve stalled with England in LON longer but I tried for a quick out. When it didn't work, I quickly moved to Iberia and held Germany off as best I could. I knew POR could be Turkey's 18th, so I was banking Germany not making me disband, since I could throw the game. If Sarg had supported himself to MAO in the last year, he could have had his two way. I am glad he didn't, but was surprised Czech didn't support hold MAO for that reason.

Also in fall 06 I went MAO-SPA. I should have taken it to ENG as it would have created a stalemate with England against Germany.

If he had taken MAO in the last year, before I disbanded in POR, he could have perpetually bounced POR and eventually this would have forced Turkey to 2wd.

<sigh...gasp....cough cough...> I'm bored....

Bored.....bored........borrrrrred.........my work is borrrrrring today. I'm B-o-r-e-d. I am bored. If I had the ability to predict the future, I would have told myself, "today will be boring, and you WILL be bored." Note the emphasis...it was applied because I am so mind-numbingly bored. I'm unmotivated to do anything productive, which is most likely a result of being bored.

I Just Have to Start the Thread...

I've been donating money to the Invisible Children fund for a while now, but how did you all find out about Joseph Kony? I think that there is something seriously wrong with how badly people distort public interest on the internet. Most people will have forgotten in a month, but why then, does it seem so relevant today?

Advice/ Help Requested on a Paper

I am currently writing a paper that requires me to debunk a psychoanalytic analysis of the Iliad. There is no trouble finding specific perversions of the poem, in fact, it's disappointingly easy. My difficulty is in showing that, the main problem with applying a psychoanalytical model is that you can make it say anything.

you can take edin... whatever from the north sea (with support from the army and get you'll get a build, so you'll have 3 units, so it's not as bad as it seems.

So...where do I begin?
Well: my iPod is broke, my eye is red, my computer is almost dead and full of viruses. So, there will be little chance of me getting my orders in until I get a new iPod or PC. Sorry, likely will CD in 11 games.
