Sorry guys, I completely fucked that game up.
2ndWhiteLine (2611 D(B))

Less so when I killed off Russia, moreso when I didn't properly order my fleet in Sev to move out and caused my convoy to bounce which otherwise would have gotten Austria into Warsaw and potentially causing the draw.

Fun game... wild times in the east. Had to be quite the scrapper as Austria.

So, I was lined up to take Munich- pretty clearly- France why didn't you tap Bur with Paris? Curious as to how that would have impacted game.

oh, and congrats, Czech..

I wanted to cut the draw by eliminating Russia to make the draw more enticing for England, although I'm disappointed that we didn't cancel the game to begin with after the Germany NMR first turn. I'm surprised that players of our caliber didn't immediately cancel the game and restart.

Good game. I don't understand why Santa didn't cancel and restart when Germany NMRd

Yeah Barn, also surprised France held in Paris. Could have swung the game in our favor.

I blame Russia.

If France had done ANYTHING I would have been forced to draw. I couldn't hold onto the east and west. Too many fleets.

Also, the move into Albania with my fleet in 02 was a misorder... kind of messed me up, cause Italian to be suspicisous.

I was France and guessed wrong a couple times as to what England was doing. My biggest mistake was misordering my army in Munich to support Kiel instead of Berlin on one move. Im just not quite up to the level of you guys yet, but when I saw the opportunity to test my skills in this game, I thought I would try it out. I am curious, what could have done differently in this game that would have helped us force the draw? I want to learn from this.
Barn3tt (41969 D)

I think we all made mistakes, h0le. Good question though. I believe Spring of 11 I was clearly lined up to take Munich which is a key center. Your army Paris was safe and could freely cut the only English support in Burgundy. If I had taken that, England would have had to disband one, I would have gained one, and things in War, Mun, Mos could have gone differently.

Yeah I didn't see that. I think I was too worried about what he was doing. I didn't look into it quite enough. That would've defiantly been the right play, I just missed it sorry everyone.

Me too. I have strong words for everybody. Since when did we stop restarting when someone NMR on the first turn? Since when did we play every man for himself and completely avoid any alliances? The reason for this solo lies in the answer to these questions.
The Czech (40499 D(S))

Ask Italy. We all did cancel. It only takes 1 to mess it up. I should have named it "Classy". I know that would have done the trick.

Hey who knows if that would have done anything...just saying that a gentlemans game needs gentlemen

Shylock and The Merchant of Venice
Ok, I would like to open up a debate on Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice and its presentation of Jews through the character Shylock.
Some say the play is anti-semitic.
Some say it is a plea for tolerance.
I would like to read it as the latter and would be happy to give my thoughts on why but first - what do others think?

What is 'natural'?
There have been some arguments and discussions in the forum about what is and what is not natural, particularly in the case of homosexual instincts in human beings and animals. Can we find a consensus on what 'natural' constitutes or can we not escape the fact that 'natural' is in part a socially-constructed concept?

Is, for example, homosexuality any less natural than masturbation?

These generic music threads always die because no one's ever actually looking for new music, they're just looking to show off their own, but I'll put this here: Great mixtape between one of my new favourite hip hop artists and Zeds Dead: http://maddecent.com/blog/zeds-dead-omar-linx-victor-jeff012
Check out the first track "No Prayers".

<sigh...gasp....cough cough...> I'm bored....
Bored.....bored........borrrrrred.........my work is borrrrrring today. I'm B-o-r-e-d. I am bored. If I had the ability to predict the future, I would have told myself, "today will be boring, and you WILL be bored." Note the emphasis...it was applied because I am so mind-numbingly bored. I'm unmotivated to do anything productive, which is most likely a result of being bored.

"That's What She Said" Thread...
I wanted to make a thread where one person said a phrase and another wittily replied "That's what she said" to make me laugh. Then I realized it's a sexual innuendo and the ravaging homosexual community here would no doubt take offense. <sigh...>

I Just Have to Start the Thread...
I've been donating money to the Invisible Children fund for a while now, but how did you all find out about Joseph Kony? I think that there is something seriously wrong with how badly people distort public interest on the internet. Most people will have forgotten in a month, but why then, does it seem so relevant today?

How do I bring the thread back? Why are all these new features there to make life confusing.

Peyton Manning in Denver, Tebow leaving?
Something very strange going on with my team as of late. I'm curious to know how this will play out with a very competent but aged Peyton playing in a less-than-dynamic offense after a year on the bench...

Advice/ Help Requested on a Paper
I am currently writing a paper that requires me to debunk a psychoanalytic analysis of the Iliad. There is no trouble finding specific perversions of the poem, in fact, it's disappointingly easy. My difficulty is in showing that, the main problem with applying a psychoanalytical model is that you can make it say anything.

Why is Diplomacy so addictive?
I'm brand new to this, and I'm learning. I hate it and I love it. I'm disappointed and I'm relieved. I'm happy and I'm sad. I'm distracted and I'm absorbed. I can't break free. I'm probably going to get fired from work and it's all your fault!

So...where do I begin?
Well: my iPod is broke, my eye is red, my computer is almost dead and full of viruses. So, there will be little chance of me getting my orders in until I get a new iPod or PC. Sorry, likely will CD in 11 games.
