Typical European Hypocrisy
The notion that Europeans are hypocrites is nothing new, but this headline says it all.
A European Union embargo on Iranian crude oil imports could take a few months to start because some EU capitals want a delay they say they need to shield their debt-stricken economies, diplomats said on Friday.
Tettleton's Chew (0 DX)

When Iran launches their first nuke just remember that European hypocrites facilitated the launch.
Geowiz (236 D)

I fail to see the hypocrisy. If they said that the United States should sign in an embargo immediately, thats hypocrisy.
Friendly Sword (636 D)
09 Jan 12 UTC
What precisely is the hypocrisy?

The inconsistent support for aggressive American foreign policy decisions? I'm confused.
What makes you think Iran has or is pursuing weapons of mass destruction?
Thucydides (864 D(B))
09 Jan 12 UTC
TC - Since all people are hypocritical but usually fail to see the log in their own eye, I suggest you avoid pointing out other people's hypocrisy: it only compounds your own.
I find this unusually ironic in light of Rick Perry's call to re-invade Iraq because Iran's going to be in there at THE SPEED OF LIGHT.
Tettleton's Chew (0 DX)
09 Jan 12 UTC
Friendly Sword, Thank you for self-identifying as a complete and utter idiot.
No doubt you are European.
The Mullahs in Iran are developing nuclear weapons and all you poor, helpless Europeans can do is facilitate their program by ignoring their program in exchange for gas and posting some insane fantasy.

I guess since Europe carried out the Holocaust they could care less if Iran nukes Israel.

Mother Theresa was a hypocrite Thucy?
Just because you are one doesn't mean in any, way, shape or form that humanity shares your flaws.
d31 (312 D(B))
09 Jan 12 UTC
Mother Teresa, who collected hundreds of millions of dollars that were never spent ("The suffering of the poor is something very beautiful and the world is being very much helped by the nobility of this example of misery and suffering"), ran greatly overcrowded 'homes for the dying' where painkillers were refused to patients because "it is the most beautiful gift for a person that he can participate in the sufferings of Christ" and where those caring for the sick were activively discouraged from seeking medical training? Not the best example.

By his views expressed her I am going to pose that TC is probably American right?
Well assuming he is, and since the USA clearly has loads of nukes isnt it again hypocritcal of him to say that another country is not allowed nukes. Why does america deserve them and no-one else? You have clearly shown yourself not to be the flawless upstanding and amazing nation that you always pretend to be (cue My Lai and hundreds of other scandals committed by the USA).

Also just because one man from one nation ordered the holocaust (admittedly maybe a few more people in power were ok with it) doesnt mean that the whole of Europe wanted it. Hell not even a majority in Germany wanted it, let alone elsewhere.
By your logic are we allowed to assume that all americans like to kill their own troops in friendly fire, or assume that the whole of america is ok with people running around killing hundreds of students (which seems to happen an awful lot to your fantastic nation), or can we say that everyone in the US cant spell tomato, looks through binoculars with the caps still on or cant even string a coherent sentence together like the man they chose TWICE was good enough to lead their nation (George W. Bush for those you didnt get the references).

Also as regards the collapse I am no expert in financial markets but wasnt it US problems that caused this depression in the first place, and also isnt it the USA that has recently lost is AAA ranking while plenty of European nations still have theirs?

In response to your topic (which isnt really a question it was just trying to stir some shit wasnt it?) I would rather be a hypocritical European than anyone else.

ps if you arent american then I am sorry for wasting your time and take my above rant as proof that other nations are just as hypocritical as Europe

I can't bring myself to mute TC. At any time I log on, I can find myself backstabbed, so I might use a good laugh.

Anyway, read up on the US War of Independence. Any Unitedstatesian (or USAire? I won't use the "American" word here, that's for sure) who is against terrorism is a hypocrite, by TC's way of reasoning.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
09 Jan 12 UTC
Haha TC keep talking - your hypocrisy only increases. I will admit before you and everyone that I am hypocrite - it is an inescapable part of the human condition that we see other people's flaws while ignoring our own - studies bear this out. No one is immune. Are you going to stand here and say you are better than the rest of humanity and defy scientific and psychological knowledge?

Go ahead and criticize Europe, but not for hypocrisy. Remove the log from your own eye.

"I guess since Europe carried out the Holocaust they could care less if Iran nukes Israel"

I don't think I have ever been this furious as a result of a forum post on this site. This is both disgusting and without excuse. The bile is rising in my stomach even as I type. The expression is "couldn't care less", not "could care less"! Could care less doesn't make any sense!

God damn you to hell!
Tettleton's Chew (0 DX)
10 Jan 12 UTC
Actually Octavious I meant exactly what I posted because a small minority of Europeans resisted the Holocaust even though a vast majority aided the Nazis in every country on the continent.
I'm sorry you have such a difficult time dealing with the truth.
I hope you weren't alive when the Germans didn't protect the Israeli athletes in Munich and then let the kidnappers go a few years later.
Then of course we have the recent genocide in Bosnia.
Maybe the world will be much more peaceful in this century with Europe collapsing culturally and financially while sliding rapidly into total insignificance in the World outside the Med basin and the North Atlantic.
Tettleton's Chew (0 DX)
10 Jan 12 UTC
It is so entertaining to watch an idiot like D31 trash Mother Theresa trying to defend Europe's horrendous history.
Thanks D31. You just can't write this kind of reaction unless of course you are an idiotic European of some kind.
Tettleton's Chew (0 DX)
10 Jan 12 UTC
Rosaville, Just like D31 you make a total idiot out of yourself by stating "one man and one nation" ordered the Holocaust.
It would be such a waste of time trying to tell the truth to someone who is intellectually vacant so why waste the time.
Just stay in your fantasy. You obviously are totally incapable of learning the truth or handling it.
Good bye you foolish imp.
cnorment14 (339 D)

Hi everyone Im new here and I just saw this asshole ruining the US's image. Let me assure you not all of us are so ignorant to historical facts. The Holocaust was kept secret from Germans who although were more then willing to take Jewish jobs during a time of recession were horrified to learn about the Holocaust. Not all Europeans are Germans and not all Germans were Nazis. Actually very few were. Most people just jumped on the bandwagon of a great leader who was leading the german people to greatness. Americans did the same thing with FDR. Other then the whole insane thing FDR and Hitler were very similar. Also the argument could be made that it was the US and the allies that drove the Germans to Hitler because we absolutely crushed their economy. We drove them into a deep recession and Hitler offered a way out. He never said "I am going to kill all the Jews" he said "I am going to make this country great again". (not actual quotes). Yes some people aided the Nazis but there are sooo many stories of people hiding Jews the entire war. The rest that sided with neither were kinda blind like you. They just chose to ignore the facts and pretend their country was not doing anything. Anyways back to the first topic. As Geowiz there is no hypocrisy and your idea that Iran will launch a nuke is idiotic. Iran's leader may be insane but he is not stupid. Launching a nuke at Israel would start a nuclear war where the entire Middle East could possibly disappear. Also the diplomats are right Europe is a mess right now (no offense) why would Europe want to hurt their Economy more. I also fail to see how starting an embargo would stop Iran from launching a nuke. There is nothing short of invading them that would stop the development of nukes and invading another country is just idiotic. So sir why don't you just go back to Fox where nuts like you feel right at home.
Yonni (136 D(S))
10 Jan 12 UTC
I can't believe I'm going to reply to this asshole.

"He never said "I am going to kill all the Jews" he said "I am going to make this country great again""

Correct, he never said "I'm going to build gas chambers and systematically murder millions and millions of people." However, he did say:

"And so he [the Jew] advances on his fatal road until another force comes forth to oppose him, and in a mighty struggle hurls the heaven-stormer back to Lucifer. Germany is today the next great war aim of Bolshevism. It requires all the force of a young missionary idea to raise our people up again, to free them from the snares of this international serpent... "

And that's was in 1925. I'm sure a less lazy google could help me drive the point home but I think the point is there. Hitler never hid his militaristic dislike of the Jews. People supported him knowing this full well.
cnorment14 (339 D)
10 Jan 12 UTC
I apologize for some of my more mean remarks I was a little worked up. TC I am sorry.
But anyways yes that is a quote that he said but he still never said he would kill them it is inferred now but back then most people would be so worked up about him promising change and reform and actually rebuilding germany that they would have ignored it. People looked for someone to blame and Hitler gave it to them. Even today we blame people because we do not wish to take the blame. You can not blame the germans for following Hitler. He was one of the best speakers in the world. Yes there were some that followed him knowing full well what was going on but most Germans either did not know or did not want to know. So by saying the majority of Europeans supported the Nazis is not true. And anyways some that did help did so because they were fearing for their own lives near the end of the war. Again I apologize for some of my own rude remarks I take full responsibility for the outburst and I respect both of your opinions but I have to respectfully disagree.
Tettleton's Chew (0 DX)
10 Jan 12 UTC
Cnorment, Thank you for wasting now time showing your total ignorance about anti-semitism in Europe. Your ignorance seems to know no bounds. Europe has persecuted Jews for centuries.

Your statement "Yes some people aided the Nazis....."
I wonder if it is willful ignorance or just stupidity on your part. Please educate yourself.

On January 9, 1349, nearly the entire Jewish population of Basel was massacred by the townspeople. Ignorant to the causes of the plague, the people and local leaders of modern Switzerland, France and Germany accused Jews of poisoning wells. Most were burnt alive.

Also you should study up on the Treaty of Versailles and correct your ignorance.
France and Britain demanded the high reparations that caused hyper-inflation in the United States.
Try not to bring a knife (your ignorance of history) to a gunfight.

This site is invaluable to get ignorant individuals to post absolute stupidity.
You are among a large group of friends.
Fortunately for me the mute button rids my life of such stupidity after initial contact.
Good riddance you ignorant moron.
cnorment14 (339 D)
10 Jan 12 UTC
wow thank you for clearly showing that I was correct in my initial assessment of you being an ass. I tried to to apologize and respectfully show my views and you respond by calling me ignorant and a moron. I wonder what school you go to. I happen to go to one of the best schools in the country and history happens to be one of my best subjects so I am pretty sure I am not Ignorant. Also the Depression was not caused by the Treaty of Versailles, it was caused by massive amounts of stock being bought by people who could not afford them because there was no regulation.. Banks lent mortgages out that they should not have and when a few people sold their stock everyone tried to sell because price dropped and that never quite works out does it. Oh and guess what I have a history textbook open next to me.

10 Jan 12 UTC
cnorment, I'm not commenting on TC's post or your post as a reply to him.

"You can not blame the germans for following Hitler."

Yes, I can blame people for voting for a violent sociopath. He did not hide his antisemitism. His methods were violent from the start. Stop making excuses for people who deserve no such thing.
Obviously not everyone in Europe has a bloodythirsty antisemite. But can I call the people who backed Hitler and the Nazis ignorant assholes? Fuck yeah I can.
cnorment14 (339 D)
10 Jan 12 UTC
See I can respect you because you are being respectful to me. Thank you. I can see where you are coming from and it is a respectable view. You clearly have a handle on history. Here is my point of view condensed. No he did not hide his antisemitism but he did help the germans get back on their feet economically. Also it is human nature to look for someone to blame. Hitler gave the German people a person to blame. Just as the US has blamed blacks except without the slaughter. The Germans voted in a man that would help their economy and their country. Nobody other the Hitler and the other men in charge could have predicted what would happen. People turned a blind eye because they were doing good. A lot less condensed then I had hoped but again thank you for being respectful.

Stop saying "but."

It's like saying "Slavery was pretty mean, but at least it was free labour." Why is it so difficult to condemn people who supported (passively or actively) an atrocity?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
10 Jan 12 UTC
haha cnorment, that's typical of TC. He just says horrible things about how stupid you are, and if you make too much sense in counterarguing he mutes you. He's a hero pro like that. Did it to me the first time I ever talked to him as well.
cnorment14 (339 D)
10 Jan 12 UTC
I condemn the people that actively participated in the killing of Jews but (sorry) the people that either were too afraid or the people that decided to turn a blind eye I wont condemn. No, I don't think they did the right thing and I think they should have helped but can you honestly say without a doubt that you would help if you were in the circumstances. People that spoke out were killed, people that hid Jews were killed. Would you risk dying to save another human being. I wish I could say yes but I don't know because I have never been in that situation nor do I want to be. You say they shouldn't have voted him in. The thought of him exterminating that many people was unthinkable nobody thought like that. Not many saw it coming and anyone that did was disillusioned because Hitler and his staff were brilliant at propaganda. My argument is that the German people while they did not do the "right" thing are not at fault for the holocaust because sometimes the situation is so extreme that even the best of people turn the blind eye. Again, No I don't think they did the right thing I just don't think I can blame for doing what they did or did not do. Those that actively helped the Nazis are to blame. Also, there were many many many people that did hid those who were persecuted against.

What was that book... where he outlined what he felt about the Jews... was it Mein Kampf?

"The Germans voted in a man that would help their economy and their country."
That is accurate only if you put "voted" in quotations because I don't really think it was a real election.
Actually it was a real election

Here, however, I know that intellignt people are a minority and I don't think my weapons (as TC put it) are worth the risk that they might get dulled in an intellectual fight, and I'm actually bad at trolling.

Let me try though:
herp derp there was no holycaust at all, derp, read the Internet, idiots, ahhhahahha, idiots, you see, it's funny 'cause you all are, haha, everyone not in a landlocked country is so shortsighted they should rather blind themselves, hehe.
