From the original thread, since you clearly want to finish the conversation here:
"@abgemacht - I am *shocked* that you, a mod, would condone outside of the game deals. I'm tempted to ask Kestas and the other mods what they think of that view and to see if they want youto continue to be a mod with that particular view. It's no different than refusing to unpause because you are losing. *Shame* on you, abgemacht! Shame!"
I find this mod vs. community mentality to be very harmful. I'm not sure where it stems from, either. I value everyone's opinion on the site, regardless of their mod status. It makes me sad that I can't be part of a discussion without someone starting a campaign to remove my mod status. It doesn't have to be like that.
For the record, if you actually believe a mod is abusing their power, you should do something about it. The other mods will handle it. We are not the Catholic Church or Penn State Football. We don't let those in power abuse it. For instance, if I was using mod tools to cheat in my own games, or giving points to my friends, you absolutely should start a campaign against me. But, you think I should lose my mod status because of my wishy-washy opinion on a situation that has never happened before? Take a step back and think about that.
But, if this is what you want to spend your time doing, no one will stop you. You can't be banned for mudslinging the mods. But, I will defend myself against criticism.
And, if you are successful at getting the only active admin fired, I'm sure one of the other mods will thank you for the promotion : )
