I agree that cheaters are pathetic. I've noticed, and mentioned, some alarming trends in here and although I made the mistake of calling out a player in the forum, I've taken to calling them out in PM's to them directly. As a result, I've received some interesting responses. One respondant, in particular, stated that he and the two other players whom he always seems to play with in GB games, play via laptop in the same room. I tied to inform him that communication of any kind is against the rules in a GB game, and that their moves were far too coordinated to be without such. He replied, "that's one interpretation." I think a very clear and succinct delineation of what CANNOT be done need to be more prominently posted. Obviously, communicating with other players via IM, phone, or talking (if in the same room) isn't appropriate in GB games. But, another trend that I've noticed is players who, in press games, refuse to communicate with the internal system, yet are obviously communicated and coordinated via other means with other players. Again, I don't feel that this is no in the spirit of the game. The is nothing wrong with choosing to communicate with one player and not another, but going outside the system to do so seems wrong to me.
I've never understood why people feel the need to cheat at something which you gain nothing from -- cheat at blackjack where you can win money, not for worthless points.
One thought I had was doing away with ANON games, that way, players will have a much harder time hiding their bedfellows, and others would be able to avoid those players and eventually they'd either stop cheating, or leave the site for want of games.
