I'm a Vikings fan. More specifically, I'm a Sidney Rice fan.

It's going to be a tough game for both teams. I'm not going to argue that the Vikings are better, but it's probably true. We'll let the playing of our teams do the talking.

Agreed, ZaZa. As a longtime Vikings fan, I was not happy to see them match up with the Cowboys. I think it will be a very close game, and I'm still hopeful that AP and Favre can pull it out. Enjoy the game if you get to go!

i think the vikings need to rely more on AP and not so much farve, but i don't see that happening. if farve throws 30+ times the vikes are done for.

Reason for hope: Minnesota destroyed NY Giants and NY beat Dallas twice.

The Cowboys will be shat on. Tony Romo, in the playoffs. You kidding me? The Vikings have way too many weapons for Dallas to stop them and their offense is hardly hot stuff. I'm a Chargers fan and our ragtag line from that game still shut Dallas down.

@LJ--I think you don't know anything about the playoffs, do you? players'/teams' performance don't ever reflect on what happened the season before. in the postseason, teams' performances reflect how good they are THIS season. did you see tony romo and his team take apart the Philly eagles? the cowboys are a different team both on offense and defense. and besides, the vikes passing defense is just plain horrible. maybe it wasn't in week 17, but that was one game out of 16. the bears shredded their D, and so did the cardinals and panthers

As a Vikings fan, the game will come down to protecting the quarterbacks. If AP can run the ball well enough to keep the Cowboys from teeing off on the pash rush, then the Vikings will move the ball up and down the field easily. At the same time, the Vikings need to get pressure with their front four, or Romo will find open receivers.

Was that revenge on Favre for leaving GB or for beating them twice this year? :)

@ PTook - How many football games have you played in at any level? How many playoff games have you played in? There's definitely a difference in the way teams play in playoffs and how they play during the season doesn't really have too much of a bearing on how they do in playoffs (i.e. the 14-2 Chargers from a few years back got shredded by the Patriots)

@PeregrinTook & LJ Tyler Durden: Both of you are speaking too much about tendencies that are superficial. The vast majority of the time any specific football game depends greatly upon
1) momentum
2) preparation
3) straight up physicality
The Cowboys have major momentum coming into this week if nothing else. The Vikings should have a bit of an edge in preparation, as they didn't have to play anyone last week. Physicality varies from week to week for every team.
If the outcome were a given there would be no reason to play the game. Any given team can beat another any week.

It seems everybody avoids talking about the Colts. The 6 ton gorilla.

The team I was glad to see lose was the Bengals they lost to the jets in Week 17 keeping the Texans from going to the playoffs so when they lost in the playoffs I laughed so hard and told myself dont they wished they tried week 17..

Some points:

1. The Vikings are going to win. They're undefeated at home this year, they're well rested, and they're angry at how the season ended for them.

2. The Cowboys are going to lose. They have shown too inconsistency this year and their run game will be nowhere near as effective against the Vikings D. Not to mention the fact that they'll be playing in the loudest stadium in the NFL.

Ladies and Gentlemen. I am sure this will be a closely contested game with a winner decided by 4 or less. That fact of the matter is that the game won't matter come the Super Bowl. The Chargers are going to win the Super Bowl over whoever comes out of the NFC. The longest current win streak n football (11 games), the most clutch QB in the NFL (Phillip Rivers), and a rested defence will be too much for any other team to overcome.
