When is someone Cheating?
Isnt it incredible how in some games (anonymous to boot) some players never attack others.

Today, I observed one power skip several turns and then wake up make 1 move and then go back to sleep. I wonder if the same Person used this second nation as a ploy....... Thats cheating right?

League takeover question
So I'm taking the spot of someone who had to leave his league after the first game. He won a solo in the first game. Do I inherit his points? This is quite relevant because if I do, everyone is going to kill me. If I don't, I would prefer everyone else know that...

EU raises objections to Oracle Sun takeover
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I'm positive that whatever Oracle may say their intention is to stifle MySQL development, as with InnoDB and BDB. But Sun is failing (perhaps helped along with Oracle looming over it like the grim reaper), so if Oracle don't buy it who will?

(FYI MySQL and InnoDB are the database tech that this site runs on)

Any Takers for a CD Russia?
http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=14943

Russia has CD'ed. Position isn't terrible, but it probably will become so if no one takes over. Lots of diplomatic freedom, though; can join up with pretty much anyone on the board easily right now. Any takers?

Steelers over Pats? Really?

Giants in the playoffs? I don't know about that. They're looking pretty bad recently. I'd give that spot to the Falcons. I'm not sure about the Jets either. Maybe Ravens or Texans instead.

I'm with C-K... the 2 wildcards in the AFC will go to the AFC North, and I don't think the Steelers will win the division over the Bengals. The Bengals hold too many tiebreakers over the Steelers (and I'm a rabid Steelers fan!).

And the NFC east is looking waaay too rollercoaster. Falcons probably have a good chance at wildcarding it, and the 3rd place NFC East team won't make it. I don't know which one it is, though. Dallas is turning it around, the Eagles are falling apart, and unless Eli's foot heals, he's pretty much up and down...

I see:
Steelers or Bengals going deep into the playoffs, though Indy can definitely make a push.

NE is always in it, but good defenses (Steelers, Bengals, Ravens) can stop them.

The Vikings getting upset early with Favre throwing a duck that gets picked for a TD. Let's face it, Favre is not good in the postseason.

The Saints look hot right now, but a good defense can knock them off, but they'd be my favorite for the superbowl matchup.

And I foresee the AFC pulling off the win with a lower seed team, probably a wildcard.

Vikings will beat the Colts for the Super Bowl.
They'll beat the Saints for the NFC championship, and the Colts will beat the Ravens to meet them there.

Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson will be the favorites to win the Super Bowl MVP, but it'll go to Jared Allen who will set a Super Bowl sack record against an aging Colts O-Line.

The colts o line's # of years in the NFL (from LT to RT) 4, 6, 11, 2, 9

Jeff Saturday is a bit old, but other than that, they are quite YOUNG as an offensive line.

Regardless, Peyton Manning doesn't get sacked because he has such a quick release. Honestly, I don't think the Vikings secondary can handle the Colts nor the Saints offensive passing games.

But if you look at the past 6-8 years, you'll see that the dominant teams midway through the season haven't won the superbowl. That bye week can be killer on some teams, and it seems like an underdog buries them early. I do not anticipate that the vikings, colts, nor saints will make it to the superbowl this year.

In other years, I might agree with you, but not this year. There is such a split between the good and bad teams that I have a hard time believing that any team aside from the top few teams have a shot at winning or even making it to the Super Bowl.

Off the top of my head, maybe Atlanta or Baltimore? I think that the Ravens still have promise and the Falcons are showing signs of improvement. Beyond them and the obvious ones in the Vikings, Saints, Colts, Steelers, and Pats (who you can't ever count out), I just don't think anyone else has a chance of making it past the first round of playoffs, much less to the Super Bowl.

-I see the Giants getting it together (Coughlin will play Captain Blood if he has to to win, and they didn't start 5-1 for nothing), the Cowboys have an easy schedule ahead, and I just think the Eagles might edge the Falcons, though that may go either way...

-Steelers are getting hot, and I do see them defeating the Patriots in a playoff matchup; that great Patriots D is all but gone, with all those players in the secondary off and the linebackers gone and Seymour gone... the Patriots are nearing a fall in the next 2-3 years unless they seriously rebuild it
Vikings all the way baby.

Although, I must say:

Colts>Steelers>Vikings>Redskins>Everyone ele

Squeeze in a Saints between the Colts and Steelers.

Redskins?
You read (or is it red?) correctly. I can see them getting their poop in a bundle and win two or three games.

I hope it's the Vikings and you never know. Running and passing is tough to beat. I'd say the teams to watch at the end of the season are the Falcons, Pats, Cowboys and Bengals. These ar four teams that I think are capable of being the surprise teams that beat the unbeatable. But as I said I'm pulling for Favre and the Vikings all the way this year.
