I'd really like to play a 50-pt WTA at 48 hours. I can't start it because I've got <100 . If you start it, I'll join it!! (I haven't joined this one because it will dock my points for the next 3 hours - if you re-post here, I'll definitely join)

WTA is just like PPSC, but talk of draws happens early and often.

Are you are more likely to see a WTA game end in a draw, because people know that 'surviving' gets you no reward?

@fortknox - i completely disagree. in PPSC no one cares if someone else wins they just go for the points, which is very frustrating. and talk of a draw is just that - talk. draws are more likely b/c people actually work to keep someone from winning, rather than letting that person solo while you try to get as many SCs as possible from the other people still on the board.

That's not entirely true djbent because even in PPSC a win looks better on your profile, and is better for your Ghostrating.

fair enough jamie, but i see that dynamic in way too many PPSC games. i will admit the PPSC game i just joined to take over a CD is playing much more like WTA, and how it ought to be played - people trying to stop one power from soloing, not being opportunistic and scrounging for points.

All of these reasons are why I much prefer WTA to PPSC. So if any kind souls could start a new WTA game for ≤ 56 with approx 36 hours, I'll be the first to join!!

Damn annoying. I've temporarily taken a hiatus from the FB Dip site with 3000+ points and in the top 10 players over there yet I can't start a 56 pt WTA game!

jarrah, you'll find that there is more pride in the ghost rating system (more like chess ranking) than in strictly points. It's a better determination of skill rather than points (for the PPSC reason, and because some people just play 50 games at a time and can get gobs of points).

Somewhat true... In any case I really need 500+ points to give me the flexibility to enter any game I like, and so I can start my own WTA games.

To get to that level, I'd rather try to do it quickly than slowly. Hence my desire for 50+pt WTAs.

Furthermore, if you play, say, 49 games (all WTA) for the same number of points and win 7 games, then your points will be exactly the same. Your WebDip rating will only improve if you win > 1/7 of games, which is the same ratio required to improve a ghost rating (assuming you're playing players of the same skill). Simply playing games does not improve either rating - you need to win more than you're expected to.
