It's difficult to say... there's no precedent. I know that on other forums it is upon the moderators to ban disruptive posters... but I'm not sure that's the case here. For now, you could just ignore his threads entirely... don't even stop for a passing insult at his intellect.

As much as I think he's a troll, there is no reason to ban him. Can't stop every neglected 12 year old misfit with an inferiority complex.

If his posting on the forum is so bad then why do all the same people continuously comment on his threads and complain about him? If it's worth them posting about they obviously can't think it's that bad.

If the community wasn't so small it wouldn't be an issue. But the limited forum space and topics makes it an issue. You could just ignore him, but we don't have the manpower to really drown anyone out.

He should only be banned if he doesn't learn his lesson from this.

I have to give him credit for doing everything in his power to salvage an unwinnable situation.

Heck, I might even be able to say that his forum posts distracted me enough to make me misorder, but it's more likely I'm just sloppy from being new to the game.

Either way, from all I've seen, he's harmless. Best to just leave him be.

Well, whilst I've found it annoying his frequent useless posts, I agree that that's not really a reason for a ban. However, the issue that caused me to post this was most blatant one supporting meta-gaming and by inference cheating

If you want diplomat1824 to go away don't start threads like this one. If you ignore him he will go away. As they say, Don't Feed the Trolls. I assume some people must find him entertaining in some way or they wouldn't keep replying to his threads.
As far as the accusation of metagaming is concerned, it was sort of, but really it was harmless nonsense.

I think it would be detrimental to set a precedent by banning someone for posting on the forum, no matter how obnoxious and annoying they are.
As for the meta-gaming post: couldn't a mod/Kestas just delete it?

Yeah I favor censoring the actual retarded posts rather than banning the kid from posting anything. If that doesn't stop him then ban him by all means.

it would be pretty nifty if people could vote to close a thread
say 50-100 or so people just need to check a box or whatnot and the a built in mod halts/deletes the thread

Would banning this diplomat1824 make any difference? I doubt it. What's to stop him from rejoining as foreignminister1824 or diplomat1825? As for him being 12 or whatever does that make any difference? No. His intelligence makes all the difference, there are people smarter than those twice their age. For succeess both the will and the means are needed. So,

I've been out of the "forum loop" for a while now, what with finals for school and all, so this is pretty new to me.

I guess what my question for diplomat1824 is, is why bother? It's clear that you're upsetting a lot of people with whatever it is you're doing, and it seems that you have the spirit and energy to become a well respected, active member of this community if you only try and find more appropriate ways to share your views. This is not a community that will condemn you on your opinions alone, only the way you express them.

Granted, you've dug yourself a hole here, and I can't speak for everyone, but if you're willing to show more respect for the others on the forum and for site etiquette then I'd be willing to give you a clean slate to make a new "first impression".

If you don't want to have to read his posts, just don't respond to them with your passing insults because it only bumps it up to the top. We have a sort of democratic thread system here... and as long as people show interest, whether positive or negative, to his threads they will stay near the top. It's not hard to drown him out... just start a thread asking people what they were up to or something, and hopefully more people will post in that than waste their time telling diplomat that he should stop his inane posting.
