E-mail verification should help, and a way for mods to scan the entire site for likely multi-accounters instead of having to have users point out who they think are multi-accounters should reduce the (large) number of baseless accusations

True. But this continues to happeneven after we were cleared by a Mod.

1. Don't take it too personal. As Kestas once told me 'your comfort is not as important as having less cheaters on the site' :)
2. The fact that a Moderator 'cleared' is an argument you can use to negate such accusations - but it does not give you life-time immunity (I would assume)
3. People tend to throw in any kind of accusations if a game does not go well. Maybe they are simply trying to change your game-plan this way?
4. I just checked your profile - you play in 5 games currently and you have 2 other players involved in 3 of the games, each. That is a rather noticeable occurance - which will raise some eyebrows - maybe try to mix it up a little and avoid these people for some time? Not saying it is intentional - but if you don't want to be accused try to take some preventive action on your side also.

People will try anything to get ahead of you in this game. =)

Kestas, will there really be a mute function? I'm skeptical of this... If it becomes significantly used in any way it could decrease the quality of communications and games... even if it's just brief hostile communication in one game.

Though a decrease in communications in the game in question would most certainly raise the quality of it. ^-^

I'd be for a mute function, basically forcing someone to communicate globally. It would make no-press games much easier and could also be used tactically in addition to blocking offensive communications.

Chrispminis; not sure, trying to reduce multi-accounters is priority #1, and if there's still large demand for a mute function and no real opposition to it it may get added eventually. If there are a fair few who are against it for good reasons then it won't get added, I don't mind too much since I've never wanted to mute someone (but I have found it useful in other games)

I disagree.
A mute function would make the game meaningless. This game is Diplomacy, and of course it requires diplomacy. How do we conduct diplomacy without being able to communicate?

If you were playing no-press then I think the players would bind themselves to the rules, as it's more of an honour thing than points.
