A bit ago there was some interest in some variants. Unfortunately code limitations proved to be a major barrier. The variant that seemed to gain the most traction was the "crowded variant" for its general simplicity and interesting potential.

For those of you that don't know the crowded variant is just normal diplomacy with no neutral supply centres and four new powers. Spain(A), Portugal(F) and Tunis(F) make a new power. The four balkan states of Serbia(A), Bulgaria (A), Rumania (F) and Greece (F) make a new power. The Scandanavian countries of Norway (F), Denmark (F) and Sweden (A) make a new power. Ruhr is converted to Luxemburg(A) to round out a Low country power with Belgium(A) and Holland (F).

Thats it! Now there are no easy neutrals to pick up. Diplomacy just became that much more important!

Obviously we won't be able to do it on the very wonderful phpdiplomacy.net because altering the code would be too difficult. Thus it would be a play by email game adjudicated by a human GM (me) with an adjudication program. It would be hosted on the play by email site of redscape.com where you can do a sort of global press. But I will be emailing the maps directly to you anyway!
