These are simple things:
1. When you enter a game, write to every single PLAYER to say hi.
2. Include both a game related proposal and maybe a simple social connection question. Always end the first contact with a question as it drives a response. It can be something game related such as "Will you support me to Tyrolia" or "Do you think there will be a bounce in the Black Sea." or it can be a social question of a non invasive type such as:
"Do you follow NFL ball, what's your favorite team."
3. Always write about 12 hours before a deadline to everyone to follow up on the previous message even if it is simply to say Hi there, have not heard back from you and I would like to know what you think about ....?"
4. Anyone who misses a set of orders you need to write to especially quick an ask the simple question: 'Hey, you missed your orders -unless you wrote all hold orders- is there anything I can do to help you out? Do you have any questions? Will you be continuing or do you want to put out a plea in the Forum for a replacement?"

This simple technique will help you by
A. Training you to be a communicator not a waiter ((or a better food server))
B. Gets you information earlier on whether someone is going to drop
C. Gives the other player a greater sense of attachment to the game on an emotional level because someone actually wants to play the game WITH them rather than ignore them,
D. Adds a positive spin to your profile with the other player as someone who cares about the hobby and the game regardless of personal gain...*(and this last point may become habit forming and spread to other aspects of the hobby to the benefit of all of us.))

So there you go, a simple One Two Three etc on what you can do to make things better rather than we just complain about the Drops and NMR's.

Don't forget 5 and 6:

Not to put down your attempts to make the game friendlier Edi but i don't think thats the problem. People make accounts (especially younger people) join a bunch of games, maybe log on a couple times and then forget about the site as they move on with their life. It happens.

Perhaps more players would continue if we all made their games more inclusive.

This seems like a good idea.
