Wow, 4 sentences and an equal number of !'s i had no idea it was such a hot button issue. Despite the fact that i said i wouldn't post towards your claim, i feel i should anyway. We are not a 'team', nor are we multiple accounts or any some such allegations. We are a bunch of friends in real life that started playing open games, then after finding enough (almost) to fill our own games, started playing locked. Before then there was no 'planning' or even any 'scheming' mostly it was just that once in the game, we were more likely to accept a ally in someone we knew, as oppose to someone we had no idea whom they were.

In my opinion, this is no different from making allies with someone based on how they were in a prior game, which no matter how hard you try, does influence your choices.

I am sorry that you feel cheated by people allying against you sir, but it is a game, and if you are no happy with those that are in a given game, select another.

And yes, as stated above, we did start playing locked games, even though in some we have empty countries, hopefully that addresses your concerns sir, and there are no harsh feelings, after all, it is only a game.

I have to say i agree with Robb on this, there is no rule about playing with your friends, and I would stab either of those two in the back or ally as easily depending on my in game situation, there are a lot of people who get very up tight over how games are being played on this site, my advise to all of you is Chill out and grow up!

its not a rule to play with friends of course, but it is against the rules to have an agreement to give away SCs in one game and exchange it for another in a later game. Its called metagaming.

but thats not what were doing? I have Never once in Any game said, here i'l give my SC's to you if you do so here. Though, i can name 3 people who have said this to me, whom i dont know in real life. All that is happening here is game starts, i get a msg for 4 people saying "Ally?" and as i sort thru them, i find one from Dove, RL friend, stand up guy, as well as one from a guy who has backstabbed me in Three other games... Now i am gonna call it a no brainer as to why i selected to choose Doves request for alliance over the other guys. And if you really want to, look thru the games in my profile, and oddly you wont find us "conspiring" or anything in all of them, i am fairly sure in 2 he has pretty much steam rolled me... So i mean, yell scream and kick all you want, but grow up and do it in the privacy of your own home, or play in games with out those people whoms conduct you find 'unfair'.

I agree with robb too. Why are there suddenly so many people complaining about Diplomacy now? Wolfyboy, Sun Tzu, etc. Are these new players, and then people in their games team up on them and win, and they come here to the forums and complain.

The game can be much more fun when you face off against friends. I have a few friends who I play with. Since we can never get 7 people together to play, it is more fun (and convienant) to play online. It is clear that they are not conspiring but merely play together FOR FUN. leave them alone

Sun_Tzu, you said it yourself: it's not against the rules, it merely puts the other players at a great disadvantage.

There is no difference between this and an alliance of several people. In my opinion this is perfectly acceptable, and there is no excuse to complain about it. If three people were able to coordinate an attack and divide up the supply centers so fairly that no one had any intention of backstabbing the other - they deserve to win in 1906.

And just because they're friends doesn't mean they won't stab each other. I stab my friends all the time.
