Christmas was being advertised before Thanksgiving began, and Black Friday has now surpassed it as well. Tradition is dead, it's a grabfest for money now.

I debated on seeing the assassins creed movie or Passengers. So I guess I'm glad I saw Passengers. Which by the way was great, if you don't mind a slightly cliche love story

I don't like watching movies for the actors... Unless it's someone like Will Ferrell or Robin Williams.

But seriously, there wasn't a chance in hell the Assassin's Creed movie was going to be good. As a video game it's kind of cool sort of, but the premise just doesn't work for a movie at all.

Video game movies would work if instead of rehashing the story they told a story in the world separate from the games. For example tell a "The Elder Scrolls" story and instead of explaining everything just make a good story. We don't need game references or cheesy lines. Maybe a single one-off joke. A guard mentioning himself taking an arrow to the knee in the background so it's not obvious. Or have tons of the bodies on the battlefield with arrows in their knees. Apply this logic to any franchise and you CAN make a good video game movie. The issue is that writers and directors try too hard to exploit the fans at the cost of most other viewers and even most fans.
