The issue is that there is a few steps to generate them, and it's unnecessarily fiddly.
Some work needs to be put in to automate them, but it's never made it to the top of the pile for me to do (there are usually more pressing things to work on). Volunteers are always welcome, but usually what happens is we get volunteers, we describe the work, and then we never hear from them again.
For those playing along at home, the process is:
* Run a php script on the server that generates the ratings download
* Download the ratings, and run an old perl script that Alderian (I think?) wrote.
* This produces csv files for each month, which then are uploaded to Google Docs
It's not actually that complex. For automation, we need to figure out how to upload/publish the csv files automatically, and also why cron jobs don't seem to stick on the server (they stay for a week or two and then are removed mysteriously). Both are probably easy to solve, but just need time to do so.
Part of the reason this hasn't been done is that automating the Ghost Ratings doesn't seem like a good use of resources, as the ratings produced are not particularly high quality (there was a post I made a while back describing the problems, but basically theres a huge error if you use them for prediction, in large part because of the unusual choices made in the K-factor and expected outcome formulas that GR uses). That's why the integrated ratings project would use a different rating (probably TrueSkill), but that's a very large project that has yet to be started. Last time I mentioned this, a religious war was started.
Anyway, the current GR is now ready for publishing, and will be uploaded by one of the other moderators soon (I just generate them, I don't do the publishing).
