Hi everyone!
Webdip development continues to plod along, with 1-2 improvements per month. (see http://webdiplomacy.net/recentchanges.php for some of the recent improvements).
We've decided that it would plod along MUCH faster if we had more hands on deck. Are you interested in helping out?
We're looking for people with (ideally) the following skills:
* PHP
* MySQL
* HTML/CSS
and some skills that could also be helpful are:
* Git/github experience
* SVG (if you're interested in the map overhaul project)
* Experience with server admin and related tasks
* Experience with DB admin
Note that we're really looking for people who are able to work on improvements straight out of the gate - this project probably isn't for you if you're thinking "man, I've always wanted to learn to program", but it definitely is for you if you're thinking "man, I'd really like to use my existing programming skills to improve webdip".
The webdip codebase is (generally) pretty clean. Kestas has done an amazing job, and it's one of the nicest PHP projects I've ever worked on - although like any long-running project, it has the occasional racoon hiding in the wiring.
We haven't figured this out yet, but we'll probably create a new icon for people who develop the site (like the mod chequerboard or the donator icon). So, if you help out, you'll get fame and praise as well as the satisfaction of knowing that you're helping make webdip the best Diplomacy site on the web.
If you're interested, contact us at
[email protected]. The instructions for contributors are here:
http://webdiplomacy.net/developers.php
and the issue tracker is here:

Hopefully we'll get lots of interest, and we can set up a side channel for people working on the site (we used to have a developer forum, but it had to be shut down due to too much spam) so that we can all help each other out.
In the meantime, I'm available for any questions that you might have trying to get a test environment set up.
I'm looking forward to being able to sign these posts "webdip dev team member" :)
