- Are the two 10-player variants included in the new ratings?
- What is the last game finished time cutoff for inclusion in a category rating (looks my Dec live game didn't get me rated)?
- Peter Wiggin (and other unrated's) doesn't start back at 100 for WTA, I assume. So is it just that his (their) calculation is skipped in the category ratings until a new game is finished, and then a +/- adjustment is added to his prior rating? (VI would surely prefer the 100 pt reset.)
- Does the Live rating include 5 minute Gunnoat phase games or only Live Full Press?

Three months.

Everyone has a rating, people who haven't finished in a while are just hidden after calculation is complete.

Based on the games played counts I would say the 10-player variants are still being excluded.

The truth is PW ran away from the category after crossing paths with me. You can't slight him for that.

But well done guys, looks great. It does look like the cutoff for inactivity is still pretty short though - any discussion on changing it?

Also, not all the categories have all-time lists. Not sure if that's because they aren't ready yet or if it was just an oversight.

Definitely - i haven't lost 400+ places again in the last 3 months with my victory rate.

Yonni, I removed the all time lists this morning because they're bad and we've decided not to keep them updated. PPSC's is still there because it's bad and we've decided not to keep it updated either.

Yonni: yes, I think we'll definitely change the cutoff when we do an overhaul of the way the ranking works. This is going to be very principled, so it might take a while.

In the meantime, I might replace the "all time" list with a list that does no cutoff. PW is still #1, though :)

When you say the all time list is bad, what does that mean? Was cool being able to see peak ratings.

You can still see the peak ratings. It just doesn't make much sense to rank people by peak ratings.

Ah, good. The overhaul is still on - I was worried this meant you were committing to the current system.

GUYS, THERE'S A LIST WHERE I ACTUALLY BEAT JAMESYANIK!!! I don't play Gunboat or Live, and I beat him on the list that matters. It's the lowest ranking I have, but at least it's better than that of someone I know I can beat in a game of Dip for sure.

I don't know if it doesn't make sense, kinda nice to have an all time best list to strive for.

So, ATC gets Ghostrating back in order, and ATC jumps 115 in GR. Coincidence? I think not.

Side note: that may be the biggest GR jump I've seen.

VI, the issue is that the rating is supposed to fluctuate until it converges on your skill level. Your peak rating isn't representative of how good you are.

Certainly wouldn't use it as any kind of primary leaderboard no, but still was neat to see who was able to move the needle the highest and have that master hall of fame list that included all the inactive people so you can measure up with those over the years. Was novelty sure, but still cool.

This has got to be Google's fault and not anyone here, but on my phone it tells me I don't have permission to open the GR sheets and on my computer it just gives an error message when I try to open them.

I've heard Google docs blacklists access to any IP's of where the user has logged excessive amounts of time on animal pornography sites. Could that be related to your issue?
