So I was curious, what do you prefer? Why?; female opinions would also be appreciated...

I was asking because of the thread abut the waitress. I was curious how sexualized breasts are for the people of webdip.
Octavious (2802 D)

You're using an arse as a yardstick for measuring the sexualisation of breasts? How does that even work? I much prefer the face. Is the face sexualised? Lets argue that the entire body is sexualised, which will make the term meaningless, and we can happily ignore the entire ridiculous subject :)
steephie22 (182 D(S))
04 Apr 15 UTC
Wouldn't that just lead to Iran-fashion?
Octavious (2802 D)

It wouldn't lead to anything because the general public have infinitely more sense than the average webDip forumite.

When a waiter does that "lean across you and allow his rear to drape heavily across your shoulder," thing, does that means he's into you, bucking for extra tip, or just too busy to even notice? I think this warrants serious discussion.

This thread is juvenile and does not speak well for the site. People make threads like these and then wonder why this forum isn't more welcoming to women.
Please stop. Thanks.

I wasn't asking it in a juvenile manner. I was curious because a different (definitely juvenile) thread got me thinking about sexualization of various body parts. The two (arguably) most sexualized parts are the buttocks and breasts. My personal stance is that a woman has to be funny and smart... but I know that there are more physical desires in every human regardless of sex. It is juvenile to think that a woman has no sexual preferences; thus my OP question even invites female perspective. I think that our society has become an odd mix of overt sexuality but reserved sexual opinions. I can go sit down and watch the television for 30 minutes and count at least 2 or 3 mild to minor sexual references (I include advertisements which highlight female or male physique to sell products); yet when I ask a question about individual personal opinions I become juvenile. No matter where you stand in personal belief to automatically denounce another persons question as juvenile is in of itself a ignorant and near sighted practice.

Now, back to the OP, having grown up in a sexualized and ever more open society I am curious what men prefer in a partner and women prefer in a partner; on a physical level. We all (hopefully) are well aware that there is more to a person than physical appearance; sense of humor, intelligence, independence, and creativity; but removing that and acknowledging that physical attractiveness is still a relevant albeit subjective factor in approaching a mate, What do you as an individual prefer in your partner?

You all want this site to have a free and open forum. You also have the tools to shut down threads that you don't like. Which is it?
steephie22 (182 D(S))
06 Apr 15 UTC
@jmo: We've been through this: it's not an official request, he's just asking as a fellow site member and it's ridiculous of us to think there's any pressure behind it.

Unless that changed again?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
06 Apr 15 UTC
No, it hasn't changed, there's just people like Jeff who feel the need to keep saying the same things over and over again.
steephie22 (182 D(S))
06 Apr 15 UTC
I'll just paste here what I replied to jmo's cheeky PM, since that's the exact same point I'd like to make here:

In a similar situation with krellin, he was pissed because he felt strongarmed to stop doing something that wasn't against the rules or anything at all.

Zultar basically told him to stop whining because when he said 'please refrain from doing that' or whatever, he was clearly merely asking as a fellow site member. Indeed, this went without saying.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the opposite now goes without saying.

And as someone else mentioned, if zultar wants a thread to die he should close it, not pretend to be friendly just to forcefully get his way in the end anyway.

It's the forum, not diplomacy. If this was an official request, he should've made it clear or shut it down, not play nice as a PR-job, just causing things to escalate because of confusion undeniably caused by him again.

Wouldn't be surprised if he only spoke up for the +1's anyway.
KingCyrus (511 D)
06 Apr 15 UTC
Zultar doesn't need people to give him +1's, I am sure he has the power to give himself hundreds with his many multi's ;)
Jeff Kuta (2066 D)
06 Apr 15 UTC
I wasn't the one who broached the topic again by saying, "Play nice."

It would save the admin staff a lot of time if they didn't get involved in posting on the threads they don't like. Just shut the offenders (or the offending thread) down instead of getting into a battle of wills with them.

"This thread violates policy #2." Thread closed. End of discussion.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
06 Apr 15 UTC
The only "battle of wills" is the one you are waging by putting the spotlight on a non-issue and continually bumping the thread he wanted off his front page. As such, I'm out.
Jeff Kuta (2066 D)
06 Apr 15 UTC
You seem to be confusing me with someone who wants 100% free speech on this forum. If a topic is offensive, define the offense and shut it down. I'm fine with that. I *prefer* that. Repeat offenders get banned from the site. That's how it should work. But injecting personality into individual threads is not a productive use of anyone's time.
steephie22 (182 D(S))
06 Apr 15 UTC
The problem still is this pretense to follow policies and handle things professionally while it should be evident to everyone that policies are exclusively followed by the people who impose them when they feel like it. People like me still don't know what the policy is now because, as this request by zultar makes perfectly clear, it changes each case dependent on what suits them best.

Obscurity is part of their policy and they outright deny it. Call that a non-issue all you want.
steephie22 (182 D(S))
06 Apr 15 UTC
I've found that most girls take being touched/grabbed/rubbed against the ass etc. much less serious than the same things in the breasts, so girls seem to consider the breasts more of a no-go while messing with the ass is just general party-practice for the more loose girls.

Being allowed to touch a girl's breasts is generally more of an achievement and more of a sexualized achievement.

They're both sexual assault if she doesn't want you to do that, so you should take them both equally seriously instead of writing about them like they're objects.

Hey all, this thread is going to be silenced. Its in bad taste, we've received several complaints about it and zultar kindly asked you to let this thread die. We didn't step in and silence it immediately because....well, we don't like doing that. Its heavy-handed and doesn't generate goodwill with everyone else if we're unilaterally shutting down threads left and right again.

As for why we're shutting it down, it was a very borderline case of violating rule 3 on the forum. So much so that we've added "degrading" to it, so it now reads.
"Do not make targeted threads that are abusive or degrading towards another member, group of members, or social group. This includes but is not limited to posts regarding sexuality, race, and religion."

But the reason I'm silencing is this:

"When in doubt about whether posting something is allowed, remember your first responsibility: use common sense and respect other players!"

The site owner and an admin said you should let the thread die. The thread was not respectful towards women. Common sense and respect.

I uploaded SunZi's "Little Dipper" Android application to Aptoide
Our very own SunZi (userID=19506) once created a useful Android app Diplomacy adjudicator based on webDiplomacy code. SunZi publically published this adjudicator app ("Little Dipper") on GetJar, where it is still free to download.

For the sake of archiving SunZi's work, which our comrade gave the bare minimum of advertising (threadID=879472 & threadID=882356), I uploaded the app to Aptoide.

What to do?
What do you do when you're playing with an asshole that has the chance to draw, but refuses to do so when it is obvious that another player is going to get a solo? He's so annoying it hurts I really don't know what to do I mean it's obvious that if we continue the game will be a solo for another guy. He simply REFUSES TO DRAW

Let us suppose someone has an army in Yorkshire and a fleet in North Sea. However, the army is beset by enemies in London and Liverpool.
Our army in Yorkshire is going to be pushed out. If we assume the attack will come from London supported by Liverpool... could our army in Yorkshire, convoy through the fleet in North Sea and land again at the newly vacated London?
