Alright I left college this year let me see what I can think of without rambling:
1) Never use cocaine, heroine, or meth. Ecstasy, shrooms, acid, and weed are okay to try if you are very careful about it from a legal and medical standpoint.
2) Your school probably requires it but learn about alcohol poisoning. If someone is drunk passed out, turn their head to the side so that they don't drown in their own vomit. I'm serious.
3) College is a time to be yourself. Push yourself to talk to people and make friends but don't try to mold yourself to people to make them your friend. Keep meeting people until you meet people that like you for who you like to be.
4) Learn some basic nutrition and eat well. You're an athlete so this is probably covered, I hope so anyway.
5) Don't skip more than 3-5 classes of a given class, ESPECIALLY not in a row. Going to class is the easiest way to prevent yourself from washing out.
6) Always use a condom. The only exception is a serious girlfriend you LITERALLY TRUST WITH YOUR LIFE who uses birth control. Even then, be wary.
7) Do things outside of your major. If you're an engineer, write fiction or join some artistic club. If you're a poli-sci, go look through the school's telescope on Wednesday nights. College is also a time to expand your horizons.
8) Literally expand your horizons by studying abroad. But skip Western Europe. It's fun, but a vacation more than a life experience. Go to Asia, Africa, or a poor country instead.
9) On the same note put some effort into learning a language to at least a comfortable conversational level. Pick one that will be useful later in life like French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese etc.
10) Lastly to round out this list of 10, a piece of general advice. As a college student you have a unique benefit - you are legally and sometimes functionally an adult, but you are also in college, and people understand that you are learning the ropes of life. Use this to your advantage and do not be afraid to ask questions about things you don't know how to do. Don't know how to file your taxes. You find out in college. Not from class, but just by asking people who know. This is the time when it's not embarrassing to ask. Don't wait till your 32 to ask how to boil a potato. Google is your friend in this regard, obviously, but never be afraid to ask a live person.
