Before I, for the sake of my mental health and my blood pressure, bail in this idiotic forum, I leave one thought.
Krellin, you horse's ass, read the goddamn piece Ellis wrote, not the LA Times synopsis thereof: http://www.out.com/news-opinion/2013/05/13/bret-easton-ellis-gay-men-magical-elves
Obviously, it's not Collins nor his coming out that Ellis has a problem with. Ellis says, "It was an undeniable moment and also extremely cool. Jason Collins is the future." He says, " What Ellis has a problem with is the way the media presents it: " I’m all for coming out on one’s own terms, but heralding it as the most important news story of the week feels to me, as a gay man, well, kind of alienating."
Indeed, Collins shared the same concerns, trying to separate himself from the very media-whoreishness of which Krellin accuses him, writing in SI: "Though I'm coming out to the world, I intend to guard my privacy. I'm making this blanket statement in part to keep rumors and misunderstandings at bay. I hope fans will respect me for raising my hand. And I hope teammates will remember that I've never been an in-your-face kind of guy. All you need to know is that I'm single. I see no need to delve into specifics."
So I don't know... Ellis has a good point. It's just not the one Krellin things he has.
