Indeed, Collins shared the same concerns, trying to separate himself from the very media-whoreishness of which Krellin accuses him, writing in SI: "Though I'm coming out to the world, I intend to guard my privacy. I'm making this blanket statement in part to keep rumors and misunderstandings at bay. I hope fans will respect me for raising my hand. And I hope teammates will remember that I've never been an in-your-face kind of guy. All you need to know is that I'm single. I see no need to delve into specifics."

But I maintain... you'd be a lot less reviled on this site if you'd just say what you mean instead of trying to "win" every conversation. I don't know. I'll just leave Krellin (and any subsequent readers here) with the simple encouragement to read Ellis's op-ed in Out in its entirety, with an open mind. You'll all agree that it's far more nuanced and insightful than anything Krellin, I, or others have said in this thread. And it's a point nuanced enough that it can't be won or lost.

And with that, I'll close by saying to Krellin, thanks. Thanks for letting me know about Ellis's piece. I hadn't seen it. And, though I haven't found your commentary on it particularly edifying, what Ellis has to say is quite thought-provoking.

With that, I'm going to go finish some work, mow the lawn, eat a burger, drink a beer, watch a Bond film with the missus, and do all those other real-life things suited to a beautiful weekend that make life worth living.

I agree with you. James Bond films are disgusting. When he announces how he and his wife are going to watch a movie, I can't stop thinking about how they might have sex at some indeterminate time in the future. I should never have thoughts that make me uneasy.
